aah, the blue peter footage. I think this has been on every Lewis hamilton programme that tv has done.
But I know my 6 year old wouldn't be able to control a 1/8th car, even round a small track.

I was told that Justin Mackey and some other guy were actually driving the cars lol
Makes me laugh too if you look up Lewis on Wikipedia it says he started racing R/C cars and finished 2nd in the National championship before moving on to Karts

he's not as good as his team mate, Pedro was twice European rallycross champion, the first at age 12.

The shop was Models in Motion and it was Stewart and Ray Wilcox on the show with Lewis. Stewart was driving one of the cars and Ray was waving the flag.

I think the point Millzy was making is that Ash was but a wee sperm in his dads ball bag when Craig was on You Bet :)
Anyone know of any You Tube footage of it?

Matts right on the money here ;)
i asked Justin about this today at work & he said it was Him along with Stewart Wilcox & Mike Cradock who were actually driving the cars.
they were asked to go there to promote rallycross & get it on the telly, when they got there it was decided they looked too old & the program wanted to focus on soime kids so justin & Stewart etc had to hang around out of shot (you do actually see Stewart at the beginning of the clip)
basically they did a start & drove a couple of laps, then stopped for a while then were asked to just do a few more laps, basically just driving around. the kids were basically asked to focus on a car & hold onto a transmitter for the sake of the filming & they just picked Lewis as the alleged winner of the imaginary race
i was told about this when the clip was just thought to be long lost telly history never to be seen again! strange now its been dug up is the cause of a few discussions. plus its funny how they had some psycholgist analysing the footage & remarking on how intense Lewis was & how he only smiled when he won LOL:rolleyes:
Lewis & his little brother do still race occasionally though at the Ware track near Stevenage. i think Cradock has hooked them up with some Kyosho gear :)

Yes you are right Chris as the Hamilton's picked up some kits to mess about with from MiM. Now I think Nic is getting a little more serious...

someone give Jenson a B4 and B44... its not too late!!
yeah, he might actually win something:confused:
He must be well p!55ed off that he was meant to be the next big thing and did nowt and then along comes hamilton and achieves more in one season than he did in 5 or so

I am still a Jenson fan, I am sure he has the skills (as I believe a lot of the drivers do)
his rides recently have not been all that good.

I totally agree,
Lewis has a great car underneath him and im sure if jenson could pick up a decent drive he would hopefully be at the sharp end.
