Hi Guys,

I'm not the best working these calc out getting it over my head.

I'm running RB5 SP2 dropped a SP V3 7.5t motor in.

Now I was running a 8.5t X12 before with a 26t pinion was perfect for indoors.

So I have gone a hihger gearing think I may have gone the wrong way but the motor seems bang on but only time would tell or some advise be great.

At present I have put 28t pinion on the car.

This is what I'm running gearing wise

78t spur 48Dp SP V3 7.5t with 28t pinion

Any advice be great

Thanks

That sounds too high rob. Id say about 23 would be more than enough

Not sure on the internal ratio of the RB5, but if it like the B4/X6, I would say 26/27 should be about right - depending on track layout (tight/twisty then 26, more open then 27). I ran 26/81 on my 7.5 in the X6 around both Broxtowe and Grantham and they both seemed fine.

From what I have been led to believe, the SP motors need a larger pinion than the equivalent LRP...

HTH

I'm running 26 on a 6.5 in my Vega RB5 so i'd say you are about right.
