Hi there, just wanted to say hi, I'm new to this (haven't had an rc car since i was at school and that was a Tamiya Boomerang!) and i'm 35 now and looking to to take up rc racing as a hobby.
Could anyone give me any recomendations as to what is a commonly used car? Things have moved on so much since I was into it I wouldn't know where to start. The car at the time was the Shumacher Cougar so that shows you how long ago ha ha.
Many thanks, Dave.

Hi there, best thing to do is come along to one of Tiverton's race meetings and have a look at what people are running we are all friendly so come down and have a chat. We take some stock down track side but if there is anything you would like us to get we can or you can visit are site.

Thanks for that, I think that would be a very good idea,i'll definately come along. I've still got my old cougar so i'll dust him off and recomission it again even if just to get a taste for it again and go from there.
Are there ever any practice days where I can no doubt embarass myself quite well whilst I learn the ropes?

Hi

If you can't wait until next weekend. Come and race indoors at Tipton st John nr Ottery St Mary next Wednesday evening. WWW.TRCMCC.CO.UK (http://www.TRCMCC.CO.UK)

We start racing at 7.30pm.

Its a bit of a trek from Crewkerne so if you let me know your coming i can book you in for a late arrival.

We race Tamiya Mini's and 1/10 Off Road. A lot of us race at Tiverton so we will be able to give you some advice.

Cheers

Paul

I'm definately planning on coming down next sunday for a watch and hopefully a chat with some of you to point me in the right direction. Just a thought though, what time is the racing?

Thanks for that guys,I shall aim to get there around mid day. I'll be the one with my wife and newborn daughter with me. She's the reason for my interest, this hobby will be just as exciting as motorbikes but hopefully I won't run the risk of killing myself ha ha.
Thanks for the offer Barry, i've sent you a pm. Dave.
