Hi

Guys I need your advice here!

I've just bought this for a good deal and intend to run it on a b max with a 6.5 or 8.5t brushless motor (sensored )

Now i know the limits with this speedo, but has anyone had experience in running this in an off road with similar motor turns?

Ppl over in rctech claim without turbo and boost options you can get away with a 5.5t motor in an off road. Surely with an added fan over the heat sink this should be possible?

Please offer any advice before I put this speedo through it's paces!

Ta!

Hi

Think the instructions say no lower than a 8.5T in off-road.

I'm running one of these with a 7.5T in a 2WD Losi 22 without turbo or boost and have had no problems. Running on high grip astro with longish straight. Neither speedo or motor getting particularly hot - motor around 55-60 degrees.

I would have thought you might get way with a 6.5T in 2WD but think you might be pushing it with a 4WD. I'd run it with the 8.5T and see how hot the speedo gets first.

Be interested to hear how you get on if you do try the 6.5T though as I have one sat in my pit box:)

Cheers

Rob

I'd be interested to hear too.

I must admit that I've never been brave enough to put my Xtreme stock in my 4wd car (also other ESC never misses a beat so why take it out?). That said I have run one in my 2wd car with a 6.5 and it coped, but I'd not want to push it any more than that (certainly not in a 4wd as heavy as a Bmax).

The Xtreme stock is, power capability wise, similar to a Speed Passion LPF and I know people do use those in 4wds BUT I blew an LPF with a 6.5 in 2wd on carpet when a bad landing resulted in the plug terminal on the SP v3.0 motor going high resistance and thus overloading a phase .. out with the majic smoke!

Here's how it's set up to post to Naushad.

Does it need changing before sending?

I run a HW 60a v2.1 speedo in my cat sx2 with an 8.5t motor.
I actually use a stock program (119) and use about 40 steps of boost (but no turbo) on an astro track.
I have had no problems thus far. The speedo never gets more than warm.

My solution was to turn all the boosts on and up to max, then run a 10.5t in my Bmax. It runs a little hot but its as fast as anything else out there!

Bumping old thread....

What are the limits of this speedo... I'm getting very confused.
I want to run up to a 6.5

You MIGHT get away with a 6.5 on a (read any manufactures) 60A ESC for a while but it will be living on the edge.

For the extra couple of quid I'd definitely get the V2.1 120A
