View Full Version : my BXF - wiring

Hi all!
I installed the electrics today in my new (bought used) BXF.
Servo: Hitec HS-6965HB
ESC: Keyence Infinity A-01B
Motor: Reedy Krypton 10x1
Rx: Sanwa RX-311 (where someone chopped the antenna wire - arrgh)
Batteries: Sanyo RC-3600HV (bought as single cells at eBay)
I used shrink tube (engl?) to guide the wiring off the belts and I wanted
a clean look (maybe I should've used balck shrink tube for the esc and
servo wiring...)

somehow I had to cut off a piece of the right servo saver to get full
steering to the right (saver and servo were colliding)

oh yes... the look is so clean and coooll
besides that, I soldered the batt minus wire to the motor minus, almost frying
my never used keyence speedo :eh?:
and made a lot of pics of it...
Thank god the speedo is still working (of course I tried to run it! Giving
a brand new Reedy Kr a nice wakeup call...)

Looking good.
Here is my go at a neat install.
I dont know if people would be happy with running wires under the belts but its given no problems.
All wires are black.
Cell and motor ground travels across the car in between the cell cut outs.
I soldered to the bottom of the speedo lugs.
Cells are linked with an extra connector between the belts !!!
I was pleased with how neat it came out.

Wow! That's stunning, makes me quite ashamed for my wiring which looks like the inside of a cheap radio mostly ;)
Wow ! Jonathan, that's the cleanest wiring job I have ever seen... amazing !
The extra connector thing is a bit too much to me though :p
I already saw your paintjob on oOple, first class too. So, big kudos here !:cool::cool:

Oh my gosh! That's clean wiring!
BUT .... I can still see the servo and esc wiring! Hahaha. (just kidding)
as I was a total idiot and soldered the esc wrong I had to redo
the shrink tube of the "power cables" and used there the blue tube too...
I had a short circuit in my MX4 via the carbon chassis once, I'm not
sure if I hadn't a somehow clumsy feeling about your wiring, Jonathan.
But, again, it looks killer!!! :)

Thanks for the nice comments guys. (sorry for showing off in your thread Micha).
Ive got another BX with a brushless install. Its not as extreme as the BXF but still quite neat, I will put some pics up.

Yes nice wiring installation john!
I'm looking forward seeing your brushless installation...;)

Jonathan, very good indeed!
I have a 'plan' for my BX worlds kit which should mean few wires showing... see if i can pull it off, will upload images when the ESC finally turns up!
Where did you get your servo horn from? Like the look of that, I want one.
Edit: found a shot of my old one, yours makes mine look bad and I used to think it was really good!

Cheers, will be interesting to see what you have in store for your worlds edition !
The servo horn is a 3 Racing one, I got it from Brock models. The standard one rubbed on the 'F' shell so I got this as it is a bit shorter and looks nice !

bathy, actually my MX-4 f.e. looks similar to your BX... wiring wise
therefore I was really proud to "invent" the heat shrink tubing to
get short wires save off the belts. (and you can stuff in the servo, esc wires
that are too long)
then Jonathan destroyed everything...
BUT I think my power wires are shorter than those in Jonathans BX :eh?:
BTW: the servo arm looks like the blue alloy arms that are in the Hitec Digital
Servo boxes (funny that there was non in the carbonite gear servo hs-6965)

PS: yes... Yok drivers posting again!

Jonathan,
did you glue the brushless motor wires together, so they keep in
this shape while driving?

Yep, i'm new to the mr4BX's group! Wow i love this car...:wub
I will still run the original version with rear end upside down modification, for this season then i will probably run the world version as soon as it will be more available...
Cheers

Work in progress here, I should probably upload a ‘finished’ picture but this is how it’s looking…

It will be fine; unlike you I don’t have the 'touch of a rapist' ;)

Micha
The wires aren't glued although I did think about it. Putting the shell on dues disturb them a bit, I might give it a try.
Worlds is looking very nice so far Bathy, I'm liking the routing of the motor wires, is there a rear belt tensioner ? I changed the routing on my BXF to avoid the tensioner (only 1 wire which I then put the other side of the battery post) as the tensioner bearing would pinch the wire. Will be interesting to know how you get on.
In fact I think Im going to rewire my BX (no tensioner) with your routing !
Please show us a finished / more pics.

Looking even better!
I was thinking about fixing the wire upside down the ESC! Does it work ok then? Might have to change mine now as well
Did your speedo wires come all black as standard, I mean the little wires, sensor wires?

Cheers. The ESC lugs are through hole plated so connection to either side is ok. The sensor cable is a standard one that came with the Reedy/LRP motor, black and in a black sleeve.

Your wires wee? i bet that didn't do your electronics any good:woot:

I think I killed my speedo, connecting it wrong the first time, I didn't have
breaks with it, except that it was fine.
So I exchanged with my second Keyence an redid everything.

Cheers Dan & Jonathan.
4.5… it will be fine, don’t panic!
I had hoped to try it out at Newbury today, but I’m suffering with something (sick kid).
With that motor I might not win anything (as usual), but I should be able to get the biggest air…

Right here is my atempt at a bx worlds, I have to say it is one of the hardest cars I have ever had to wire up, there are belts and gears just waiting to have a chew at any miss placed wire or wire moves slightly during a run

I changed mine again, wanted to move the ESC further forward, also fitted the anti-roll bars and rear diff cover, all ready for 2008... I think.
