After a lot of work the oOple Worlds 2011 report is now finally online and will be updated asap during the Worlds as and when we've got something new added so keep checking back!
Day 1 of the event just saw registration and the opening ceremony with some tyre gluing and battery measuring thrown in for good measure. Day 2 sees the first cars on the track and we'll hopefully get to see some more interesting cars that have so far been hidden away.
If you've any requests to see things or want to know anything then let us know and we'll try to find out.
Check out the report online now: http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/worlds2011/

He will be if you can get him to dye his hair pink and get it done for a charity to boot.

Craggs running a b4.1
I guess that does make sense with style of track (dirt/motor out the rear etc) I also pressume his full commitment with AE would dictate that they would need him to run a full production car?
Liverc video feed doesnt allow a close enough inspection of the cars but its brilliant anyway!

This is the 2wd Kyosho secret. Should be Cody's, alltrough I'm not shure, that all on the team are driving it.

shame Darren's not there due to BRCA red tape, bit of common sense needed surely.
makes it even stranger when you see who is there from the uk, not sure everyone who is there actually qualified, could be wrong...

are you referring to the uk team or other national teams?,
Mrs oOple
19-07-2011, 07:37 AM
If you're thinking Jimmy oOple, he isn't racing because he didn't qualify either - he raced no nationals last year.
I have raced at one national this year, but none last year so sadly I didn't qualify either
Perhaps if Darren and I both get organised and race a national each next year, we'll be all set for a place at the next WC event - I'll give him a run for his money, world championship warm up winner? pfff....
tellor
19-07-2011, 08:04 AM
Apologies, it does look like all have quailified
12.3 The World Championship team will be selected in the order of the previous year‟s National Championship results for each class individually.
fair enough, if you enter and all those above you don't want to go so be it, plus the BRCA member rule!
I know that rules are good and fair for everyone but if i had a place and knew the likes of Darren wasn't going i'd give my place up so the UK had a better chance of doing well
DaveG28
19-07-2011, 08:37 AM
Tellor, I think this has come up, the problem is that:
A) You don't get to choose who you give your place to
B) I am not sure he could ever get an entry, even if there were spaces, as he didn't meet the uk entry requirement.
I agree it's a shame though, as you want the best fighting it out!

Martin Achter is one of our number one fans. He is holding his true skill back for the first couple of qualifying rounds and saving himself for later in qualifying.

click anywhere on the grey bits to the left and right of the oople page.
Now hold down CTRL and press the "F5" button - this forces a refresh from server, not the cache.

Didn't work for me at work until I cleared the proxy cache, but certainly should work for those not stuck behind proxy servers

Loop is positioned just before the quad jump, as the cars come down of the tabletop corner.

Just watched the 3 2wd finals awesome racing. The roar that went up in leg one when Cragg re-passed Tebo nearly deafened me. ( had my ear phones on cos the mrs was watching telly :woot:). Quality reports from Jimmy and co. Roll on 4wd .

21-07-2011, 01:03 AM
Awesome reports guys!
I'd be stoked to see Tebo's/Martins/Neumann's/Evans 2wd under the hood too.
And can you perhaps write up a paragraph about why everyone is saying it is the best organised worlds ever? Everyone's saying it's awesome, but not why it's awesome!
The usual oOple discussion around tha actual racing usually covers that kind of stuff, but yeah, is it just the track, the facilities, food or are they providing massages for the stressed drivers between every round or what? hehe.
Keep it up!

Love the oOple reports. Always done a bit tongue in cheek which makes them even better reading.
Keep it up for the 4wd chaps (and chapess's)
I am getting day one, day two, no day three and up to lunchtime on day four, I can see day four after lunch will be a lot of work and keep checking to see if its up. (day 5, today, Thursday is Registration, no racing)
How long to change an axle on the front of a B4 ? bit on this would be great.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback - keep it coming, we want this report to be the coolest ever, so any suggestions will be helpful.
Reporting for 2wd is still work in progress, tried to get it finished last night but there's so much to get done, and we want it to be awesome when it goes online, so sorry for the delay there but hopefully once it's uploaded it will be worth the wait
Today is indeed registration, so hopefully a good chance for us to catch up with the 2wd reporting and get some scoops on what's going on in the pits.

Dont be sorry, I assumed you didnt want to cause a fuss over (what I understand to have been) a slightly ambitious take by Tebo :D

I would still like to see some pics of the team XXX4s because they look to
have loads of mods done to them.
oOples, the report is utterly wicked. Personally I like it better than anything else out there covering the event.
Really like the twisted extras of scary faces and Aussies drinking pints. The oOple photos are sick, love the extra stuff beyond the stock images of cars racing and racers with cars.
More shots in bedrooms with strippers (make and female), pranks in the pits, and THE after party.
Your nailing it!!!!!!!!!!!
