Evening,

I have just bought a Core UAC-40 charger that has the facility to discharge nimhs so I want to discharge my 6v receiver packs, the capacity is 1600mah. I have set the discharge rate at 1A but I do not know what to set the final voltage at? The range possible is 0.25 - 25 V.
cheers in advance

Try around 4.8v mate should be somewhere about right:lol:

the problem is the manual doesnt specify if you put in the voltage for each cell ie. 1v or the whole pack 4.5v??

Well when i used to use a smart tray for sub c cells it was 0.9v per cell:)

Pugs is correct that 4.8v will be about right. 0.9-1v per cell.

yep I agree....but as I said the manual for the chager does not specify if the figure i select is the v level for the pack ie. 4.8v or the v level for each cell ie 0.9v........does that make sense?

4.8v per cell would be interesting!

Try it assuming it is for the pack and measure the voltage, see what you get.

Unless you are able to also tell the device how many cells you have, it is probably the cut off voltage for the whole pack.

Whatever you set it at the charger will take the pack down to that voltage.

I rang Schumacher and they told me the the cut off voltage on a discharge is for the whole pack so I set it to 5.4v.....I have now cycled the pack twice and have managed to bring it back to life........it was only taking 1500mah now its up to 3900mah (its a 4300mah battery)...goes to show nimhs can benefit from cycling. cheers for all imputs.
