I ask the question as it seems that Ansmann is a company with alot of really good ideas and little details that give the impression they have thought about their products.
With their big bore shocks how do they stand up? I have a AE B44 and I am fed up with the shocks and shock shafts and am looking for alternatives in the form of Big Bore shocks.
The Ansmann ones that fit the X4 look the biz, can anyone let me know are they good qualiity? leak free and easy to use?
Cheers in advance, Mark :)

Someone put a post on about Big Bores on the B44, in the Team Associated section...
Apparently the new TLR 22 ones fit, with some slightly longer standoffs on the shock fixings at the top.
Hope this helps.

Yeah Mark that was me :)
I can't seem to find the Losi ones anywhere sold separately. Someone did mention Schumacher, but I have heard they can leak badly, Yokomo also I supposed to fit but spares are hard to find - so I was just seeing what people thought of the Ansmann shocks.

Tom, do you know on the off chance what lengths the shock shafts are?

I used the Bigbore on a B44 before. The lenght is about the same. I didn't have much spring/piston to try a that time but you can now use the losi22 piston and spring wich have a wider selection.

I cant really measure without taking my shocks apart...
But built up the shocks from top to bottom are roughly;
Front 85mm
Rear 95mm
If needs be ill take the shocks apart and measure the shafts for you, just let me know :)

Cheers tom, is that measurement from the very top of the shock cap to the bottom of the eyelet - if so I think we are in business!!!! :woot:

Losi don't do a set:cry:, just have to order all the separate parts...and it costs a few quid....but don't they all:woot:, there is an ansmann set in the second hand section at the min, think it's funkymojo selling good price as they are just over 100quid here

Cheers Dave, that is the set that I have been looking at.
Just don't want to jump and spend the money and find out nothing fits or I have to start replacing more and more parts.
