I'm considering converting my TT EB4-S2 to electric but unsure on what to buy. I know the conversion kit is available but i'd appreciate advice on what size (kv) motor, ESC & choice of Lipo(s) to buy.

I do race at a local club weekly, usually 3 heats plus final, each heat/final is 6mins long so i need to be able to last the distance. Also, i've read not to go for an over powerful motor as it could be too quick on dirt (?) & maybe to go for a 150A ESC to reduce the heat in it...

Can you buy a combo with everything req'd as i can't seem to find much out there ?

Lastly :D What happens about the mech brakes, do i use my throttle servo for braking only or just do away with brakes using the ESC only ?

Sorry for the lengthy post, may as well ask in one go, lol.

just one servo used thats for steering so all brake related gear is remove
motor choice you can run 2650kv(highest ideal for buggy) or 2200kv (able to gear higher than 2650 an use 6s if desire to)

theres few options available for leccys all boils down to your budget.

Very helpful, cheers chap.

As a benchmark, What kind of run times would i get out of the kind of batteries/motors you've listed ?

Have you got lipo charger?

not yet, i need everything, lol.

I'm weighing up whether to convert or to buy an 8th electric buggy tbh, though i'm aware complete buggies still require batteries & chargers.

I would recommend doing the conversion. I used to own a Eb4 it was lots of fun on nitro. So it would be more fun on electric. One thing is that its a heavy car so the electronics might get very hot.

I had an t.tiger s2 few years ago, strong car like a tank but come on lets be honest here will it be competitive at club level? To be blunt is it worth paying out for a conversion kit for it?? You will need to carry your own spares,v v unlikely you will source any trackside.
my two penneth ebay the s2 & get yr self a race roller & convert that.

I'm happy enough with it as a buggy & it (or maybe me, lol) have proved quite competitive enough within the club for sure, though maybe a better handling buggy may make life somewhat easier.

Cost is a consideration, seems like to convert mine i'd be looking at £250-300 minimum for the conversion kit, ESC, motor, batteries, charger etc. Obviously running electric isn't cheap as a new buggy on top of the above starts to get quite expensive...

Hello everyone, I just purchased a thunder tiger eb4 s2 and was wondering what may be the cheapest options to converting it to electric. I clicked on the link above for the conversion kit and the kit states it's for an s3. I've heard there are a lot of differences between the s2 and s3, will this kit work for me? And if not, do I have any other options? I have not been able to find any...

Thanks!!!

Sorry for bringing a thread back that's so dated but my question seems relevant to this.
