my novak gt7 has one:)its schottky diode module:yawn:provides longer run times, higher motor rpm, cooler esc operation, they recomend its not removed(damage to esc will occur, resulting in loss of warrenty) acording to my instruction leaflet:wtf:hope this is of help, dave.

Just put the heatshrink back on it, shorten pr lengthen the distance between the ESC and the Schottky if you need to...but keep it on.
I think your car will probably run ok with out it, but if you need a little bit more oomph in a hurry then this large capacitor can deliver it to you quicker than your cells can.
