Hi,

Hope you can help.

Just built a mad monkey with a Tower pro MG995 cheapo from ebay and a 35A ezrun esc.

Issue:

-I hold left on my Spekky and the wheels turn left, then centre, then left, then centre. Same with right. Sometimes the wheels don't work at all. When it centres, my SR300 light turns off momentarily.
-Throttle works fine on it's own, cuts out when I steer though.

Is the servo pulling to much power and therefore shutting down the rest of the electronics and setting the car to failsafe?

I don't want to buy a BEC when I shouldn't have to, could the servo be faulty and therefore replacing with somehting like a BMS 661DMG + HS fix this issue?

Thanks,
Wayne

Get a quality servo. And that doesn't include Bluebird.

Futaba, Sanwa, JR, maybe KO, maybe Savox are the only brands worth getting. A £10 basic Futaba is a more reliable servo than any of these dirt-cheap brands that claim high performance but give you interference and poor centring in return.

PS Spektrum servos are OK too - the basic ones are rebranded JR, the more expensive ones are rebranded Savox.

Hmm well tried a new esc and it works fine, which means my 35A ezrun esc isn't up to the job of powering the servo..... How bizarre.

Anyone heard of this before?

maybe you need a powercap to control the voltage of your servo..
just a thought..

Your esc is more than upto the job with a half decent servo. Cheap crap off eBay is cheap crap. (I know - I tried them for a while)
