Has anyone yet used a Li-Po 5000/4900 mAh Li-Po pack at a meeting in a 2wd brushless off-road buggy? How many 5 minute runs could I expect to do on one pack before recharging? I am definately looking at buying one for club meetings, since it would make my life a lot easier on friday nights..

We currently do 5 runs on a pack (1 Practice, 3 heats and a final). Would one fully charged pack do this, or would it require re-charging on the night?

Hope someone can answer my questions.

Thanks
Mark

I use a lipo in my xxxcr a trak power 4900 ! it takes out around 1050 mah per run at worksop with a lrp 7.5 brushless system . that figure would also depend on driving style and capability. I always top mine up between runs takes about 1/2 hour. Club nights were there is only about 20 mins between runs I use 2 lipo's. remember dont let it get below 6v ! performance on the 3rd ish run wouldnt be as good as on fresh charged pack ! Its the future ! and its here now !

Cheers mate, thanks for the hint.. I was hoping to get away with one pack, but might just get some cheap cells for club instead which would be cheaper!

Thanks

is charging a problem ? you would probably only have to do it once ?

Yes only around 15-20 minutes between rounds and virtually no power in the hall where we race due to it being a sports hall.

Might investigate power and see if others want to run li-po as well, then maybe we could get some extensions going!!

Hi Mark, only just noticed this post.

There is usually power available at Leominster. We all use 12v power supplies. There are only 4 power sockets available, but we use extension leads from these. From these sockets, we've ran enough power for nationals and large open meetings etc, so it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Chris B, Steve D, Wez, Cris Oxley, and me (& my "Family"), all use power, plus quite a few others, so if you bring an extension lead, someone will have a spare socket I'm sure.
