No idea, our dates have been out since before "dry" season etc.

Yes it is!

http://www.edenparkraceway.com/news.htm

As you can see we, and Ansmann, we're hoping to attract drivers of all ages and abilities from across the UK (but obviously primarily in the South!) to this FREE event that will offer drivers an unparalleled opportunity to get direct access to the team, it's drivers and it's equipment.

Is it worth moving the date to attract more to TORCH as some might go to Eden Park?.

I know Adam, Craigo and Deano might be going to it... also it's free which will also attract a fair few irregulars from travelling to TORCH?

I know the TORCH date was set first but maybe its the right thing to do?. We'll be at TORCH but would also do Eden if on another date.

I doubt it as comittee members have also organised things around the other weekends. (Racing elsewhere, holidays, family events and so forth).

Gutted to miss it, but it's the last summer series round at Clanfield. Sitting 3rd in the truggy champs means I'm going to have to go nitro... Too much racing and just not enough time!

Don't think so Mike, TBH you'll never avoid clashing with someone. According to my RC calendar my choices on 25th are:

TORCH all-dayer
Ansmann race at Eden
Clanfield Summer Series at...
BRCA Truggy Nationals at Coventry
BRCA Rally X reserve date

September is just plain crazy for racing. I figure with the rep TORCH has now you'll get a big enough turn out what ever happens.

Count me in too. Most probably be my next race meeting as away on holiday soon.
25th is first weekend after I return. What chance an Indian summer?
My car is ready to go, although may service shocks and diffs before I garage it and
convert to 2wd for the winter.
Looking forward to it.

as a 1/8th racer and the way the last 2 Winter's have affected that a 1/10th astro Winter Series would be spot on and even though have had numerous car issues during the Summer Series have thoroughly enjoyed both the banter and some exceptional racing,
a lot of 1/8th driver's have 1/10th car's nowadays as can be seen with the increase in 1/10th tracks both indoors and out recently 3 in the south alone:thumbsup:

MrMagoo
07-09-2011, 05:12 PM
Will be at TORCH anyway over the winter, but as Chris says a few all-dayers would definitely spice things up - especially when there's no 1:1 racing to get home and watch on the telly!

That would be cool :)

Have a look at the link - http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63494

Any questions drop an email to info@torchracing.org.uk. My PM box is perm full :(

Re details also again email the above address and I'll get it all set-up on the laptop.

We try to do 3 leg finals for all, but that really is dependant on numbers.

Randall34
19-09-2011, 05:14 PM
if numbers are large (60+) do you think 3 qualifying rounds would be good, in order to keep the 3 leg finals.

Crazy L

Good Idea Neil:thumbsup:, I think anyway. I know everyone loves a full days racing but larger numbers mean getting home later.

Hoping the weather holds out.

If any of you want cake, I suggest you start lobbying either my Facebook:lol:, or Leis, if you're on it.

Hi

Track open for open practice 8.00
Booking in closes 8.45
Heat list up 9.00 - please check your PT numbers
Drivers briefing 9.15
First Heat 9.30

Indications are that driver numbers for this event are likely to be higher than some previous rounds so we are going to have to run a slightly tighter timetable than normal. Drivers will need to be on the line on time for their races.

We'll assess number of qualifying rounds and finals once we know total driver numbers - obviously we'll go for as many as practical but take into account some drivers will have a couple of hours to drive home afterwards.

Another reminder for everyone please, if you have not raced at TORCH previously or you have changed details (class, PT, freqs) can you please sent them on to Mike - it will save time in the morning and let us get racing earlier.

Weather looking better so here's looking forward to a good day's racing.

Cheers

Yet another great day at TORCH (the weather didn't hurt...). sorry I had to shoot off before the presentation, family issues:(

Gotta hand it to the committee, 70-some drivers and we got four rounds plus three leg finals and still finished at a reasonable time. Ace work guys, good balance of laid back atmosphere but keeping things moving.

Here's for more fun over the winter:thumbsup:

Really enjoyed racing through the summer (was there a summer?) at Torch.

The summer series was fantastic and a credit to all who organised it.

Thanks to Martin who soldered a new motor into the durango. Unfortunetly, My hpi flux 5.5t motor decided to destroy itself so only managed to finish 1 qualifying round. Other than that, the 410r was quick and when working a really great car to drive.

Looking forward to the charity race and the winter series.

James, did you trace the prob?

James, did you trace the prob?

Not really Mike. Drivetrain seemed free enough and the gearing was ok. I used a 21t pinion and dropped to 19t. Timing advance was also set to 0. Holes were cut out on both sides of the shell. Steve had a good look at it and he couldnt spot anything obvious.

Going to order a different bodyshell and double check everything and go from there.

Fantastic days racing and congratulations to the club for running a slick meeting with 4 rounds and 3 leg finals for all. Finish time was about right. Thanks to all those who came a long way as I think there was a lot of great competition.

New track will be fabulous. Some real technical bits would be tops but can we keep the long straight. PPPPPlease:p

I'm sure it will be tops no matter what. Can't wait. New obstacles too:thumbsup:

Have to say I pretty much agree with everyones comments. This year (think I started in April) has been my first experience of 1/10th Electric, having been playing with 1/8th nitro for a couple of years. My skill level has progressed, but extremely slowly as I am usually restricted to 1 race per month. I want to get to a level where I can actually race, and not just driving around trying to better my previous lap time. However, 1/10 has been my saviour, along with a long list of people too big to mention individually, who have supported me with their help, enthusiasm and experience. Most of you will know who you are. But in case you don't; Byrners, Chris Slevin, Hollywood, RCLazy x2, all of the Clanfield Massive for your banter and friendship, and apologies to any I have left out. Sorry Dudders, I should include you especially for your thoughtfullness in providing rain protection.
I know I have gone on a bit, but these thing need to be said.
The atmosphere at TORCH has been incedible. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Summer Series and cannot wait for the Winter Series to start. To all the crew at TORCH, keep up the work. It is very much appreciated.
2wd for me over the winter. What have I let myself in for. Bring it on.
