Had a play with one of these straight out of the box...
very cute 4x4 SCT model and make a nice little r/c 'toy' for bashing round the house or a small slippy hall...
but not at all quick in r/c racing standards and unless racing in a same model class you will probably be disappointed and hard pushed to find anywhere to use it club racing wise.
They use similar motors to scalextric type cars so could be tuned with aftermarket motors for a bit or more fun
Associated RC18's and similar type SCT's are a blast though, well worth looking at and are great fun against similar scale buggies...
can be tinkered with brushless 380 kit etc and can give 1/10th buggies a run for their money!
there is more call or these in uk r/c racing as the 1/18th and 1/16th micro classes are quite popular so you will find clubs to race at.

There are some cool ideas here you could try.

And try the American site RC tech for lots of other ideas about motors.
