What radio is a good radio to race with?
I had a spektrum dx3s and now I use the dx3r and I'm not satisfied with any of them. The spektrum seems cheap plastic and I think the steering and trottle controll are no good. The trottlelenght is to short and the steering is impresice. The fitness to my hand is also no good, not comfotable at all!
The one thing I like with the spektrum is the menu and it uses allmost no power!
What radio would you racers out there recomend, sanwa, futaba, type?
I want a top level radio but can't afford the most expensive right now...
I have som top level-racerfriends (in Norway) and they seams very satisfied with the sanwa.
I have a lot of cars and want several micro-receivers also...
Please help :-)

Get your hands on some of those other radios - literally. Comfort is very important.
You won't be disappointed in Sanwa or Futaba quality. It's not cheap, but will last you many, many years.
The Sanwa receivers are smaller.

Since I drive the Durango and the Sanwa recivers are smaller, maybe that's the way to go.
It reminds me, I have 2 Sanwa Dash R2 radios from the 80's, they still work excellent-ho ho;-) -I use it on my retro Lazer:-)
Thank you:-)

I went for the Sanwa MT-4. Quite a lot cheaper than their flagship, but uses much of the same tech for extremely fast response. It works with many different receivers as well, not only the telemetry receiver it's supplied with. I bought it from rc-mushroom, arrived within a week in Norway.

I switched to Sanwa from KO this year and prefer the Sanwa. But yes, try before you buy

So you prefer the sanwa, I think that is the way to go...
So you can use other receivers on it?
-I have some cheap ones I bought on hobbyking that don't work with my spektrum DX3r...
I've also been looking at the Kopropo-radios and I see some of my rc-friends using that.
I noticed is it a real good deal on the Sanwa at the net now, and I might as well buy the top model anyway.
It will be the Sanwa M11x or the Kopropo EX-10 Eurus.
I see the Sanwa is a few dollars cheaper and I can also get it with 2 receivers in one deal.
It is important for me having a easy meny! I had a Futaba pk3 (I think..?) with a meny that eas totally crazy, I did't understand shit...

I had a KO Universe as soon as they were released and was the worst radio I've ever had. I had to sell it as soon as the season was over. The build quality was terrible! Not what I had come to expect from KO after having their products for over 10 years before that.
I've just started back and have a Sanwa Exzes X. Not used it yet but looks very well built and ergonomic to hold.

Unsure as to whether other makes of receiver will be compatible with Sanwa radios, generally, most manufacturers radios arent compatible with other makes

I believe Ansmann receivers (and possibly some LRP ones) will work with Sanwa radios - mainly, because Sanwa actually make them! Other than that, I wouldn't bet on any others working

At the track, Hvervenbukta/Norway today, I was lucky to try both radios and for me it was a wakeup...
The Ko fits so much better in my hand +1 and the menu on the Ko was so much easier to use! +2!
So after this day I think I will go for the Ko :-)

im going to upgrade to the futaba 4PL or 4PK because I agree what you say about the spektrum feeling cheap and not very acurate
