I know that the outdoor series isn't over yet!
But, if no one has any objections, I was thinking about organising it again this year and wondered what dates we would have to avoid clashing with.
There are the Micro nationals to avoid - as both Swansea and Caldicot are hosting one round each. (please feel free to enter them!)
F2 & F3,4,5s
anything else?....

Throughout the winter there are several dates available and not many date clashes like the outdoor season.
How about each club holds 2 rounds each, it would then make it a more realistic series with 6 rounds and then 4 to count?
I think, first of all, you will need to ask the clubs if they are willing to hold a round of a winter series, then what classes to include.

In an ideal world that may be possible, we'll see what the clubs say.

Totally agree Steve, but based on previous experience it's far easier to say:
"these are the available dates, which (if any) would you be willing to host a round?"
Talking of classes, what would everyone be interested in?
I was thinking of the usual 10th 2wd & 4wd plus Micros (2wd & 4wd depending on entries), but is there anything else?
Trucks, Rallycross, etc......

Rtr class for total newbies coming into our hobby?
I think you should cater for all 'off-road' classes up to 10th, as long as there are enough to generate a small heat.

Hmm, I've seen newbies with RTR gear do better than newbies with the best kit going! I'd be more inclined to have a newbie class rather than a RTR class, but having said that when we sort the heats people get placed by ability anyway.

I think reffs, Marshalling standards and the BRCA rules need to be looked at befor another championship is made.
or it will be another festival championship
Thing is, who is going to ref etc?

Right, so we could have a team off reffs with one head reff?? screen and mic is not hard to find.
We also need a head of off road, and a drivers rep

we've managed all year without this so far and shirley the wrca agm is the place to 'appoint' reps?
In terms of mic and screen, we have that at caldicot so not a problem for ref's.
I'll start looking at the calendar for free dates then and contact the clubs as there seems to be interest at least!!

I quite agree Pete, the WRCA isnt big enough to warrant drivers rep or head of sections quite yet. Maybe something for the future tho.
The Referee thing is a great idea, Axeman and Reg did this last year at Caldi and it worked really well, bringning that back would be great, and really give a more professional feel to the meeting(s).

Can I suggest we either distance this away from the WRCA. or re-elect the wrca. Just my thoughts
We have had head of 10th off-road, 8th off-road and touring car for the past few years, but in effect, they were just token posts that never really worked.
I can understand the ref having a screen, but not the mic, as you would be up on or near the rostrum.

I think if the role was well defined then having section reps could be a good thing, but this is not the place to discuss or appoint them. The agm is the appropriate forum.
It all depends whether the screen is close enough to the rostrum to use without mic.
Anyway - are there any other dates that we should avoid or shall I go ahead and contact the clubs?

Go for it pete! As i already said it was a total sucess(two c's?) Last year..:thumbsup:success, ah better.
COBRA will have a discussion about it on Sunday, at the mo, provisionally we are for holding a round (or two), but that would depend on entries, entry fee's etc as to whether it is viable.
Soooooooo......
Hows the WRCA Winter Series thoughts going then ? Have we got any dates/venues sorted out yet ?
I need something to look forward to apart from Caldicots vintage series... ;)

pete, did you look at incorporating a vintage heat in the wrca winter series if there was enough interest.

Bri, as long as there are sufficient entries there is no reason not to run them
