hi, im going to use novaks replacement service to trade in my old 5.5r to one of their "light" spec motors. Now im not sure what turn to go for either 5.5L or 4.5L, for 4wd?

was wondering if anyone has any experience with these motors?

thanks

5.5L, I really can't see any reason to ever need a 4.5 motor, that really is crazy fast!

It will have the speed of an R version, just more controllable with a smoother power curve.

yeah, should be good, does gearing remain the same?

Certainly start from there. I have tried a 4.5 once but unless the track warrents a 4.5 then unless you can get the gearing right it won't be any faster but will get hotter as with all brushless motors.

I have a 4.5 and put it in my b4 absolutley mental would either spin up the rear or just wheelie everywhere.

might be good in a tc on a track woth a loooooooooooooooooong straight but apart from that 6.5 is all I use in 2 and 4wd

I use to use the 5.5R in my 4wd but I have since switched up to the 5.5L and kept the same gear ratio... ;) The 5.5L is the way to go it makes me look like a better driver than I am:blush::cry::lol:... since I have a heavy throttle finger:rolleyes:..So give it a try you`ll be happy you did;)
