Ok those are the first public pictures of the BBY Q2 2wd buggy
The car is an evolution of the mid/rear in one platform concept we first presented in oople ,2 years ago and it is made in its entity by us (gearbox, diff,Universal Joint driveshafts ,suspension components etc)
As seen in the photos, the car is using our own interpretation of rack steering (protected by dirt with lexan covers) .Vertical studs are used in the front uprights to offer more set up options.
After some local carpet events it had its first major outing in the European championships organised in Pau ,France the previous week. By the end of the event we managed to find a set up .Adding droop in front and slightly smaller hole shock pistons all around made the car forgiving ,more consistent and on pace with the rest of the cars in the final (Julien - thanks for the set up inputs )
As mentioned ,everything is made by us though our own shocks will continued to be tested over the following year . In the meanwhile Losi units will continue to be used with most other makes of shocks being compatible
The gearbox internals ,though ours , are completely interchangeable with Ansmann Pro-X and a lot of B4 /B4.1 parts so that the cars will always keep going no matter what.
The car will be made in limited numbers and supported with spares and updates for life, thus if you are interested in one PM me.
As always opinions and input are welcome.
Worth noting is that even after the Euros on a hard track claiming many car casualties in 2wd and 4wd and the testing session on the same track after the Euros,we were not presented with any major problems . A stiffer version of the rear shock tower and a rack with a bit more space near the servo operated tie rod were made and tested again in the days following the Euros,as visible in the pics.
I will be adding updates on the Q2 progress in this thread.People interested in racing a Q2 ,contact me directly
Last but not least ,a big thank you to all those who stopped by to take a look at the car in this year's European Championships in Pau.It was a pleasure sharing our achievements with you.
