Ansmann r5 receiver problems

Hi I was out bashing today and after about 100yards it ran out of signal and had a mind of nits own. There was no one around at all with another car or radio device. Can someone please help. It is a 2.4ghz one and is fully bound together

check battery voltage at both ends of things and check the arials for damage

but i have heard of this before with some of my mates ansmann 2.4 sets so it might be worth taking it back to the shop to test a new set

how would i check the voltage from the receiver

would a small rubber bung at the top of the antenna straw interfere witht he signal from a 2.4Ghz transmitter to the receiver
