i have been running a standard tamiya servo in my ft b4 for a while now

when compared to all the top bods down at eden park raceway thers can go from full left to full right and back again before mine even does it once!!

really dont wanna spend 50 pounds etc on a AE one or ko so what about this one?

you do get what you pay for. the servo is a pretty important part of the car

would you rather get something cheap and let the car drive wherever it wants to, or would you wait and then drive something where you have got full control over the direction its going??

a bad servo could end up costing you more in parts if you are missing corners and hitting things, wishbones and other things damanged

Hi Martin
It was me you compared with!
I run a KO 2123 - metal geared. Picked it up on ebay for around £30. I also run one in my 4wd, again a second hand one.
KO servo's are pretty bullet proof, especially the metal geared versions. I have one from around '93 that still works fine.
I wouldn't spend £80 on a new one as they are so reliable. But as Chris said, it is worth spending money on it if you intend to compete seriously. They will last you several years, and it will help you correct slides etc much quicker without losing the back end.

This one looks pretty good. But see if you can pick up a 2123 if there is one knocking around!

If you want to keep the price cheap but have good speed then bluebird servos are brilliant! I ran a 617 in my 2wd all last year and it never skipped a beat!

thankyou for all the feedback, its much appreciated

i noticed really when compared to other ft b4s going around corners, although i dont have the skill etc as the big guns but im not that bad,i can see the difference in sharpness of the turn.

i always presumed it was shock positioning or oil etc that i wasnt turning as well

i even went as far as to by myself a new ft b4 as apposed to my hopped up stealth just because i wasnt happy with the performance etc.

however things are looking up just need to get this servo,

does anyone have any for sale?

evening jim,yes it was you sir, you jogged my memory then,
havent given it to him yet, waiting for weekend or he will smash it up left his own devices!thanks again peooples
