they look like Dboots to me, tried them and they wear really fast, and provided similar grip to minipins

I tried them and they wore slowly, but didn't provide the same grip as pin lol.

my run was on carpet with some small gym floor sections and jumps.

Awesome! I start wondering why I actually couldn't wait for it's release when I saw the first news of it late July, and bought a TRF201 instead... Ah well, I know I'll buy q DEX210 anyway! It'll just have to sit and wait to be run until I get enough driving skills from running my TRF201

Awesome vid Durango, it's clear to me now this car didn't need to be introduced to the world by winning the 2011 Worlds :o I think the competition can wait a little longer till these are around :p

but is it possible to make all the adjustments stated in the video without having to buy extra parts ??

if you can, then that would suit a general club racer perfectly. :)

At least all the parts for the gearbox conversion/swap are included from what I know: If they actually include 4 pairs of front uprights/caster blocks, several pairs of front axles (assuming you need 3 and from there you can rotate them 180 degrees for the rest of the setups) and all the additional bits to make up for 7 different camber settings, I'm not sure. Would be nice though if they did

Everything that can be done on the video can be done our of the box.
It was a kit car in the video.

Oh and you can take this as gospel as it doesn't come from the keyboard of the 'lip'.

I really like the hinged front end. It looks so easy to work on. Also, plenty of space for normal length lipo's and electronics - eat your heart out Losi.

to have this level of ajustabilty out fo the box just made this the ultimate 2wd kit.. i would have liked to see a non b4 front end but if it works, it works.

i am curious to know: why the gulf wing front arms if the the mounting positions are not in the lower parts of the arm???

Rebelrc
19-09-2011, 09:31 PM
The bend in the wishbone is set by where it clears the ground and not where the shocks mount if that makes sense?
Basically if you put the bend where the shocks need to be for optimum handling the wish bone would strike the ground before the nose
Hope this makes sense:)
I know what you are getting at though.... Lower cg by lowering the shocks and tower. but it is correct on the 210 as it is!

Rebelrc
19-09-2011, 09:39 PM
In fact t4rtot by doing what Durango have done here , it looks like they have lowered the cg in this way by about 3/4mm by bending the arms
Cause if you draw a straight line between the hinge pins then mount shocks on this line they would be higher. Hth?

t8rtot

Rebel is correct - the arms do locate in the lowered part of the wishbone already and lower the shocks and CoG. The specific angle of the arms helps protect the droop-platforms from damage since if the arms were straight then these platforms would be very exposed to damage.

Never ran a gear diff before, what's the benefits over the ball diff?

Big G
23-09-2011, 07:54 AM
it can't slip or undo itself

TonyM
23-09-2011, 08:14 AM
+’s for me Geared vs Balled
1. Provide immediate drive compared to a slight delay with balled diffs.
2. By changing the viscosity of the diff oil they are easier and more consistent to tune for varying conditions and driver style.
3. Cheaper to run - once you get used to building one correctly.

As i'm very intrested in this car and this would be my first team durango kit i have a question.
Are there other brand of wheels and other brand of springs that fit the durango DEX210?
Cause i have a cougar sv and a TLR22 and perhaps the wheels or springs would fit this car.

jonathan may

rear use 14mm hexs and the front wheels use bearing like the b4 but a diffrent size

Even if that info is correct, that's going to make it ~5th Oct...? Anyway, my understanding is that the kits are on a shipment now so should be expected imminently. That's what I'm telling myself anyway lol.

Andrew Twigger
26-09-2011, 03:30 PM
Just contacted MB Models to authorise them to take payment as soon as they have the kits who said that Durango told them they're a week behind which would correlate with approx 5th October as per RC Lazy above. Apparently spares are a week behind that ~12th October.

Worksop could be exciting with no spares available :eh?:
