As per the title really, starting racing again and need a transmitter, thought I had decided on the Futaba 3GR 2.4 however am prepared to pay a bit more if the difference between them is worth the extra money. Anyone had experience of either or both.

Thanks

I use a 3VC and have seen 3GRs in use. The 3GR as all the features you will ever need for an electric car, perhaps it doesn't look or feel quite as expensive but I'm not sure that makes the 3VCS worth twice as much!

Depends on what you intend to race. I have a 3VCS bought specifically to reign in my 12th scale (on asphalt) and it did a fantastic job - I really struggled with a normal radio, but I could get round quickly once I switched to the 3VCS.

I have also used it with my Hyper 7 (bashing only) where it's too much radio for the usage, and my touring car where again, it really helped because of the signalling speed and precision.

TBH though I now race off road and I only use 10% of the features (EPA and dual rates on the steering as the track changes during the meeting) - if I were to start again just for off-road I'd buy the 3GR and spend the rest of the money on a decent servo and a heap of spares!
