Running the front axle in the "2/2" config you need to put 2 spacers in front of the castor block and 2 behind or it will alter the wheelbase and may cause binding on full lock !

Are you going to use any kind of servo saver on the 1251? I've heard of the 210 killing these servos unless you use a saver. My mate Stu (Gainsy on here) is running one in his 210 with a saver and it's fine but I have heard of a few who didn't and the servos got murdered....

The Savox 1258 seems to be the servo of choice for these cars with no saver fitted.

jamiekerr14
20-11-2011, 10:10 PM
I ran a 1251 in my DEX210 for a for about 10 packs. But before going to MK I changed to my 1258. As its generally a tad tougher and helps put a bit more weight at the front. But yeah the 1258 is a popular choice..

Aran

I recommend the 1258 too, or get the align DS610 same thing slightly cheaper.

Hi Steve great thread:thumbsup:, it's hard to see on the photos but you've not stuck on the diff rings with black grease have you? You don't want that stuff anywhere near the diff balls I'd say.

I don't think fitting the shocks in front of the tower is such a good idea; They will be the first thing hitting anything!

On my Akularacing tower I have put shocks in the normal rear configuration and with the camber links up front. No problems after to sessions of racing.

steve73

4WD shocks on the 410 are up front

Then you have the ball in the bottom of the shock the wrong way round. The ball should be facing the back of car and the long part should face the front of the car. The manual does not really show this.

That is how I have it also and it works nicely. You might need to chamfer the edge for the camber link mount (to clear the link).

Regarding the DEX410 having the shocks in front of the tower that is given due to the 4WD with drive shafts in the front. The tower and then the shocks are situated further back on the DEX410 and therefore better protected on front impacts.

I will try it again, thanks for your input....

If you put the shocks on the front of the tower then the trajectory of the lower arm and the shock are different. This means the damper becomes less and less efficient into bump but at the same time increases side load and friction. So no point in doing it.

steve73
28-11-2011, 05:57 PM
Ok , i made it again as i did at the Beginning, but the angel of the front camber links is really heavy......

AK19E
28-11-2011, 06:45 PM
I drive the same carbon front tower and my dampers are in the back. My problem is just the angle of the camber turnbuckles. I am not sure if it works right because I have make them longer and I will get more camber after jump for example. I will check it the next time on the track.

Are those Akula Racing shock towers? Did you getany problem with them? Because mines, doesn´t fit the shock holes, towers holes are smaller than shocks screws

ronsand
28-11-2011, 07:28 PM
On the Akula racing towers you will have to use regular screws without the "larger untreaded part" of the TD screw. Alternatively open the holes to use the TD screw (with the danger of breaking int tie adjacent hole).

You can add spacers on the ball studs on the C hub to space it out further or dremel down some of the CF tower so there is clearance. This is a problem with the CF towers as the plastic one holds the ball stud vertically instead of horizontal. I only run a rear CF tower from Nick here on oOple.

OneKiwi

Going to need a few spacers to get it looking right.

Checking my car yesterday found that I have busted the front tower in the middle at the top, I gave it a twist/pull/tug and its still sitting well not flexing at all, so I may not swap it out just yet.

Wish those RPM angled cups angled the other way as well

The Tekin RsPro, Spektrum and savox is a bad combination, the bec in the Tekin is so bad. The Spektrumreceiver need more power than other brands.

I had big problems with this system for a long time and I tryed everything to fix it-no help.
The only thing that helped me was to change the radio, no I use the KoPropo and it works well.

Recomend other servos on buggycars (been mailing with Savox usa).

I have broken 6 (!!) savox 1251-servos, all of them it has been the same wheel inside...

I didn't know but the 1251 is for touring (says savox usa).

Love the DEX210, great right out of the box :-)

Nice pics :-)

Correct, But just add a £3.99 Power cap for the receiver and all is well!

I agree that Savöx was a bad decision, i will change during the year and started to look for HV Servos (so that i don't need the BEC any longer) - some tips?
With the Savöx, i have "strange behavior" (tremble), and the servo sometimes overwind....

Made of brass and easy to make it cheap. If your copying what some else has already spent the time designing.

I agree Cream, you did the work, and got shafted. What can you do, other than pretend to be flattered.. I still run both your towers, front and rear..

Noel , your products are far superior ! Just remember , some people are shepherds, and some are sheep !
You are quite obviously a shepherd my friend !!
I would take it as flattery if I was you !

Just a quick PM to Noel, got a prompt reply with all info i needed and the parts arrived the following day. Great service.

+1 for Cream.
In RC, it seems some do not care much who do the job. I had my pseudo hijacked at one point by someone advertizing something similar of what I was doing.

Back to Steve's 210, car looks good!
