Hey Guys,

I'm looking to use a carbon chassis on my Dex410 but i dont know how good the handling can be.

I plan to run on med grip with loose soil.

I dont know what is the best setup on this surface, :

Alu side pod+carbon chassis...
Plastic side+carbon or
Plastic side + alu chassis

What are your suggestion ?

there is no benefit, its just Kudos

There is a down side, as its lighter you'd need to start adding weights here and there.

you wouldn't need to add weights here and there. you make it sound like it's essential to do so... the DEX410 is rarely under 1700g anyway so a good 100g above the min weight for 4wd 10th BRCA events.

Sure you'd shave a few grams off it's weight, but not to the point where you'd' ned to start putting it back on

ive taken all the weight off my 410ultra now.

Since i adjusted the front droop its not been an issue, it was flying on Friday night! 3rd in the "A" well happy with that!

Because the 410ultra has very little flex, the cars seems much more "pointy"
it changes direction quicker and feels alltoghether more driveable.

I must say I like my Ultra.

Being a crap driver I normally like a lot of weight in my cars to provide a bit more stability. However, with the Ultra I started with a lot of extra weight and I have gradually reduced this to zero with the car getting better each time. It currently weighs in at 1675g.

Has any one seen one of these ? Im sure a lad I know had one, the counter sinks were shocking , they were too big and the screws didn't fit in properly. May have been different one I'm sure it was an '8' racing one tho .

Did tresery do one too ?

Hi,

I'm running P-DubRacing now, I've the 8-racing carbon chassis in stock for the 410.

I've had a good look at it, I know that my opinion has to be biased, but it is a a quality item.

If you want me to post any more images of the carbon chassis just ask.

Mick, does it have to be run with the ally side pods ? I guess maybe if the plastic ones were used it would have too much flex and a chance the shafts may fall out ? Any one tried ?

Yep,

You'd really need to be running the alloy side pods. There would be too much flex with the carbon and the plastic side pods.

I hope to do a back to back soon. Carbon chassis and brace with alloy pods v alloy chassis plastic pods and brace. Then swap the pods around and see.
Problem is i am busy for the next few weekends so will do asap.
