Hi guys,

I just bought a GM90 speedo and have downloaded the manual. Due to the direct german translation its pretty hard to follow.

Does anyone know how to set it up with your radio gear?

Also I was wondering if anyone has a program card I could buy/borrow to set it up? Or the USB dongle.

It works at the moment but its got a seriously harsh throttle and the brakes are either off or like a handbrake!

One more thing.... does anyone else have white resin on the underside of where the cables attach to the speedo? Its really frustrating as the wires were too short for my car and in trying to bodge more wires in they have got shorter and shorter!

Any help gratefully recieved!

I've got a GM120 and the wires are connected to solder posts, so the wires can be removed from the top, not underneath (still a real pig of a job though!) just check yours (think it's later versions with the solder posts)

As for setting it up, you press the set button for about 4 seconds till it beeps, then do your stick full throttle and full brake....this will be mode 2 which is what buggies are best with.

I had a problem on my Futaba 3VC where the tranny didn't have enough throw, so had to raise the end point to 115% which worked for me.

If all is well when you switch on it should beep twice to tell you it's in mode 2.

The speedo really needs to be connected to a PC to get the best out of it, the software is amazing and I've tweaked mine to be perfect, it would be next to impossible to do it with the set button etc.

Feel free to PM me if you are struggling. Mattw on here is also very good with GM stuff

Setting up to your radio is the same as picking the throttle profile, so if you can find this in your instructions, then it's done as part of this.

Standard Profile 2 is your best bet for off road. The fact that you have the resin suggests that it is a Gen 1 speedo, as the very first batch of Gen 1 90's came like this. After that there was no resin, and on the Gen 2 escs, the wires are actually soldered onto posts as said previously.
