seen as there are some that want to run cat 2000 and losi xx cars in the vintage series, what year do you think should be the cutoff point.(should have worded the poll:- pre 93 cars including 1993 cars, or pre 94 including 1994 cars)
please complete the poll

Why not just offer 1 point bonus for every year under 1999 your car is. so if you run a Tamiya Hornet from 1985 then you get 14 points extra added to your total.. depends on how petes working out the scores though..

genius idea!
Tricky one tbh.... to me 'Vintage' is pre '91... dunno why... anything after that i just think of 'old'....
I think XX's and CAT2000's are still fine to run, even though both of those could still mix it with todays current crop of cars up to Regional level.
At the end of the day, who cares ? Id rather see 2 or 3 full heats of every different car we remember driving all those years ago and not worry so much about what cars they are... yes a Hornet will get murdered by XX and my Egress will get lapped by Steves CAT2000, but i want to see them running side by side and Balders plan does even things up somewhat anyway - it gets my vote :)
I plan to run my Predator XK5 at some point, and thats a 1995/6 car, but also the Egress ( '89 ) Astute ( '90 ) Top Force ( '92)
I do think we ought to have a cap of say 1999 though !

Well it does upset people. I just went out and bought a car race in caldicots vintage series, (it look great fun last year watching all the cats and and a tamiya firedragon)
Last year I was told pre 94 so I kept my eye out for a pre 94 spent my money and now you have opened a poll to cut down to 93.
sorry about the rant but I was realy looking forward to this. I have even been talking to paul coombs to come down for the vintage series
