Hello, thanks for reading this post! :thumbsup:

I recently ran into an issue with the combo mentioned in the title;
the motor ran fine for a few battery packs; but now when I turn it on, the motor won't turn. If I recalibrate the ESC the motor will run as long as you apply throttle, as soon as you make it stop it won't start again.

Applying throttle has no effect on the motor, the ESC lights up to indicate full throttle/reverse; only when I manually "help" the motor to turn will it power up.

I've verified the power connections from ESC <> motor; changed the sensor cable; to no avail. The motor is brand new out of the box, anybody know what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I had the very same symtoms. Turned out one of the fets (is that correct?) on th eboard of the esc was blown. If the car was moving it would be fine, as soon as it came to a complete stop it would not move until i gave it a push. I changed to a hobbywing 120a esc with the original motor i had and its been faultless.

thanks for the replies;
@tmaxx: brand new motor, been run less than a full hour in total, the rotor moves freely when not powered;
@dobber: will try another ESC and see what it does

X12 motor is excellent, Losi ESC not so much, so I would look at replacing the ESC.

that was my first real RC car :)
and when I found it again when cleaning out the old room, it sparked a new RC frenzy ;)

I'll look into changing the ESC; might be a I fubar-ed it when soldering the wires; although the car did drive great through a few battery packs
