Your list is okay but personally from what I've heard about the JQ I wouldn't touch it.

Replace that on your list with an Agama A8, then choose between that and the HB one, they're your best bets. ( In my own opinion which is probably not what anyone else will agree with :bored: )

I am probably just going to show my ignorance here but nitro is not something I have ever done competitively so I know very little about it. I had an Xray XB8 a few years back which I bashed across the field but that is all.

Anyway, my question is this.... As an outsider I always thought the the Losi 8 and Xray 808 were the top dogs of 1/8 nitro. The cars mentioned above I haven't even heard of hardly.

Can someone please enlighten me as it would appear that I am clueless on the subject!!

Thanks!

Agama - Distributed by the legendary Jon Hazelwood through his company Nemo racing. Jon is a National Champion, he found this car and has brought it into the Country.

Hot Bodies - Atsushi Hara Edition of the car the same as he raced at the Worlds, fantastic car. Also driven by Grapham 'Sloppy' Alsop to great effect.

HoBao, not much info on this yet, fairly new out.

JQ 'The Car' - A Fin decided to make his own car, on paper it's absolutely fantastic, by what I've read and heard people talk about it was slightly rushed to get it in to the market, this has caused problems. I think most of these have ironed out now. I've never driven one but I've heard a lot of negative feedback which is a real shame, that said because of what I've heard from numerous different sources I wouldn't buy one, I did consider it until I did lots of research.

I couldn't find anything bad about the Agama so I bought one of those.

There's a reason why the losi is so popular.

What you need is someone to show you how you get the steering you need with an 1/8th car. normally more steering means more skill!!

After loads of research I'd settled on a Losi, definitely that was what I was going to get. Then I went to the club I'm going to be racing at more than any other. There were a lot of Agama's running there. Everyone spoke highly of it, even the people not running Agama. I read up on them, it seemed my best bet so that why I bought one ( and the fact I picked it up super cheap 2nd hand ).

Go to your local club, see what is run there, if you get the same others will be able to help you with set up, if you break something there is more of a chance that someone else will have a spare part.

To be honest, nowadays almost every car is good, any decent driver can you use any car, it just boils down to which one YOU want. There's no real best it's just what you're going to get on with, for me, after reading as much as I could find the Agama won.

Yea I was directed there and I posted there, problem with it? I already made my decision, one can get opinions before investment? Simply replying to his post. Srry but simply stated, losi doesn't have as much throw compared to others.

SO why does it matter if he has posted in another Forum ? I know I use more than one forum ???

DRS92 - why have you deleted all your posts ???

Well said, just tried to get a different view at other sites and I was directed there... apparently not aloud?? Want to be sure when I drop this much cash. I have made my decision and I don't want the ranting of others to continue, you know? Thanks for the help man

I think that's reasonable and understandable. This hobby isn't cheap and can easily take a lot of your monthly wage packet to afford when you're starting so research is key !

That said I still think you should get to your local club, I was set on the Losi, then when I went to the club things changed and I started researching again...

There isnt a problem i was merely pointing it out............

Oople is more 1/10th electric based racing where as already mentioned that maxbashing is more 1/8th nitro based racing where most of the people will either race or have raced the buggies that DRS92 is enquiring about so will get a far better opinion and answers to what he wants so he can make his decision on what to buy !!!

Also as already pointed out on maxbashing the Losi buggy has loads of steering and that it might be more of a setup problem and not the buggy itself, which maybe more of a personal driving style for the reason he does not like the buggy............:blush::blush:

Have you changed the Ackerman plate? That'll make the steering more aggressive.

Not sure why someone cares why you'd ask on more than one forum though!!
