X-Factory have today announced that top UK driver Ellis Stafford has signed a new two year deal to keep him with the USA based manufacturer until 2013.
Ellis commented “I continue to be excited driving for X-Factory. Back in 2006 when I first joined the X-Factory team, we had the “X-5 Squared” and the original “X-6”, and they were the fastest, most innovative cars around at that time. I won the U.K. Championship in 2008 with the X-6, but we didn't stand on our laurels, we designed and raced the “X-6 Squared” to the title again in 2009, giving us the UK 2wd title two years running. A three way tie on points for the championship with the X-6 Squared in 2010, but loosing out on countback only meant we narrowly missed out on three in a row and I think it's still the fastest 2WD buggy out there now today.”
“As the team move into the winter of 2011 and with 2012 on the horizon it is the all new “X-7” 4wd that excites me now. Again X-Factory is leaping ahead with an innovative new design, and I'm so happy to be a part of the design team. I took my prototype X-7 to a club race win the other weekend and it felt very good indeed. I loom forward to 2012 and 2013 as quite possibly my most exciting years of R/C racing yet!"
X-Factory president and chief engineer Paul Sinclair said, "Ellis has been a pivotal part of the design and testing effort on the X-6 Squared and the new X-7 4WD. For continuity and future work it was important to us that he signed for the next two years, and we are very happy that Ellis wants to stay with us."
Look out for Ellis out and about at tracks all over the UK this coming winter and into the 2012 season with his X-7 4wd buggy, X-6 Squared 2wd buggy and SCX-60CF short course truck……………..
