use either 48dp or 64dp, then we need to work out a suitable mmpr (millimeters per revolution), so can you post the following info please

esc
motor
battery, 4 cell or 1s LiPO
where you race

at the moment im just trying to get it running with whatever ive got. I think the motor ive got (brushless) is a 13.5T. Its just a cheap ripper motor (lol) and ace rc esc. And ive tried a 48dp pinion but the teath were to big, Does that make it 64dp then? And im racing at oswestry indoor carpet track.

it depends on the spur that's on the car.. you can of course change the spur to suit, but generally 64dp will be the standard for 12th scale cars.

If you've tried a 48DP pinion and the teeth are too widely spaced to engage with the spur on your FTX, then you have a 64DP spur. If the number of teeth on your spur are in the range 88 to 100 teeth, the you have 64DP; if it's 66 to 75 then they are 48DP.

That should be enough for you to identify which DP you have, but if not come back to me and we'll try some other clues! HTH :)
