Please, has anyone got a suggestion how to modify the rear drive shafts, to be more specific, the n/s/r and o/s/r outer constant velocity universal joints where the silly metal spring clip which rotates in order to let that silly little pin to fall out on the racetrack and never find again. I need to secure and stop this spring clip from rotating. I have gone through 3 now and cant understand why, poor design maybe

Many Thanks
Barry

I haven't had one go either in a year. Same side each time that goes? I would be checking something else, maybe bearings, is there a chunk missing out of the outdrive? Hex binding? Something must be causing the ring to vibrate off and slip, or possibly if it something is rubbing and could be heating it up and expanding the ring off.

I would make sure everything on that side is working correctly.

Small drop of super glue on the clip should stop it rotating, use just a little and it'll still come off fine when you want to service the joints.

i run three mad monkeys, three drivers including me,
CAR 1 has done two ( 6 months old)
CAR 2 HAS DONE THREE (two months old
CAR 3 has done one (48 hrs old)

no particular side or pattern of failure, all wheels balanced etc

Guess ill try a glue

I had this happen on my mad rat. I found that it wasnt on really tight after the pin had come half way out and chewed my rear arm. I used a tiny bit of superglue too and it cured it. The other drive shaft had the metal ring around it tightly but I used a dab of glue on it to make sure. No probs since.
