Indeed massive options, which may leave the average club guy a bit :confused:

As people have said massive options. What pistons come with the kit ? Try the kit ones first and save your money until you know that other pistons work ;) Only the top lads have run the car as far as i know, probably to early until you have run on different surfaces.

Ive now settled on 4x1.4mm in the rear.

Ive been suing 3x1.6mm in the front but will be changing this to 4x1.4mm also.

Think this should be a good starting point for anyone.

Springs/oil are as follows:

Rear = light green springs with 27.5wt

front = dark blue springs with 35wt.

Thanks Craig,

Are you sealing pistons etc? Did I hear there are blank pistons in the kit? What's the best most accurate way of drilling pistons?

Yeh im currently sealing pistons as i dont have any blanks. Think blanks have been included in the kit, or so ive been told.

Theres not a best way to drill out pistons really, i just attach the drill piece to an allen driver then just slowly drill out the hole.

Ok thanks, pretty much the way I do it already.

Thank you

Most accurate way I have found is using a pin chuck and drill them by hand, dont use a drill press or dremel.

have a look in the forums here there is a oil chart that shows all the different ones and what they are equivalent to in other oils, so you don't have to go out and replace the ones you have.

There is also a program on the net that helps you make your own.
Like if you want 25 and you only have 17 and 40 then it will tell you how much of each you need to blend to get 25. cool right

I cant find them just now but will post back later

Drop the shock oil down to 27.5 or 25wt.

With big bores you can go lighter on the oil than you think, without losing pack.

If you go too big with the piston holes, the shocks feel ok but you lose pack.

Smaller/less hole pistons with lighter oil gives the same feel without losing pack.

Make sure you get as much air out of the shocks as possible. Too much air causes too much rebound, which makes the shocks feel hard when compressed.

Mike,

I have all the sizes of drill pieces you need, always use the a 1mm to set your hole and then use a finger tip drill piece holder to increase the hole to the required size.

Poulter appears to be using 1.3 x 4 and 1.3 x 5 based on his setup sheets

Ghea - p dub racing are now doing big bore pistons too.

I am using the following shock setup on the 210 and it seems to work well on astro regardless of track conditions. I have also found that it lands very well off jumps and seems to settle quickly

Fronts
Pistons = Gurnell 4 Hole @ 1.3mm Tappered
Oil = TD 550
Springs = Dark Red or Yellow

Rear
Pistons = Gurnell 5 Hole @ 1.3mm Tappered
Oil = TD 500
Springs = Light Red

My full setups can be found on the TD website
