TFR201 wheels fit but you need to a 2mm wide spacer before the inner bearing so they match up with the end of the axle.

what way do people mount schumacher stagger cut on the 210 front wheel narrow and cut the wheel down or on the whole wheel.

run a stanley knife around the inside against the lip. After several rotations you'll find the blade will go through the rim and you can finish off the cut.
that's how I did it.

Anyone who managed to fit Schumacher wheels/TD bearings in those?
No TD wheels available at my place and there's a race in 10 days, so I'll try to use the ones I have...

I'm positive it has been mentioned in a previous post that a front axel that would accept Schumacher/AE front wheels would be available, I just cannot remember which post it was in, or weather it would be from Durango or another company.
If that person can confirm?

Was it this by Adam

Wheels are due in next week.
You can 'Drill / Ream' a B4 wheel out to 10mm and then press in the Durango bearings. It will help get you away until you get the proper ones :)

I can CONFIRM that Schumacher and AE front wheels DO NOT FIT. The 210 bearings are to big for the Schumbacher and AE wheels. The front axles on the 210 are to big for the Schumacher and AE bearings.

Thats why Adam recommended reaming out AE wheels to fit TD bearings as a temporary solution.

Nah it wasn't that post from Adam.
Like I said I cannot remember and I'm not going to wade through all the posts. All I can imagine is it will be a Schumacher/AE sized axel with the Durango fitment. If no one will do one I'll fabricate up a couple.

I was looking at getting some made, but then decided I like TD wheels too much, so resided myself to buying new tyres, and wheels.....

And you could fit 201 wheels with some shims fitted to the stub axle first.. Might be easier for some prior to the release of these..

That's the one Dazzler.
I agree the Duango wheels are better but got loads of Schumacher slims that I like to run and I don't like to cut the wheels down. Unless Durango are prepared to make a slim wheel I'll run the Schumacher ones.
Same for the rears, got loads of pin type wheels, so will run the optional cone washer and spacer for the time being.

Neil,
Have you enlarged the Schumacher wheels yet?
Got your PM, that would be cool. I'll confirm tomorrow if that's ok, just got an issue on the car I'm trying to get to the bottom of.

Why not just machine the front axle to take the b4 bearings?
neil_p
26-10-2011, 11:12 AM
Hi Mike, not a problem, just let me know what you want to do.
Not going to enlarge the wheels as at least then I can swap between the two cars.
Mark, havnt had the chance to measure up yet, but if I'm going to trim down the axel in the lathe then its just as easy to make new axels, and then I have them for the Durango wheels if I so wish. I imagine that the axel diameter on the AE types is smaller as the axel is steel and the Durango is alloy, but only assuming.

rough measurment durango is 5mm )going by bearing size) associated is 4.75mm, i plan on getting a spare set of axles and machining them (my associated ones are alloy)

Hi Mark, nice one for measuring up.
Since AE changed to steel from alloy for their axels, I am going to make a set up in either chromoly or stainless. Could do them ti but I reckon steel will be more than up to the job.
Durango have probably used 7000 or 6000 series aluminium up to T6 so imagine they are strong enough, let us know how they hold up Mark, when the spares get released:woot:

Personally i have cut the wheels down so the staggers fit properly as i found the front wheels too wide to stretch the tyres across, didn't have this issue with mini spikes though
No inserts for me :)

Yeah I have 1 wide 1 narrow on the rim. The narrow one seems to have a better profile from what I can tell.

I got some of these DE racing wheels to make an order up, cant really say im in love with them but they are not as bad as i thought!
Fronts are gonna need some gluing bands on to pull them down tight but i would probably do that anyway
