Hi all, just got a b4, going to be running mainly indoors on a fairly large track. Have not done off road b4 and im wondering where is a good point to start with brushless ( I want it to be fairly fast, faster than a 19turn top end but without the risk of wheelies) I know thars a bit of a vague question but im just looking for a pointer.
Also our there any issues with speed controller sizes and clashes with the bodyshell?
And one last one; what tyres would you reccomend for carpet?

Novak's new 6.5L motor might just be what you are looking for. Tyres - people seem to mostly be using Schumacher Mini Pins in yellow compound.

You could try 6.5 or 7.5 and then turn it down over the speedo. LRP speedos are a little more adjustable when it comes to power profiles than others out there.
Running the standard bodyshell, the Sphere Competition just fit but if you get a speedo with a fan on top you will probably have to take the fan off and stand it up somewhere in the car.
If you are racing on carpet the best tires would have to be Schumacher yellow minipins at the back and staggered ribs on the front. That is if it's carpet entirely. Some like the feel of pins up front too but it becomes tricky to drive and set up. If you are in the States these tires will be just about impossible to get...

I would recomend a 7.5 in 2wd if you are new to off road just to get you in persoanlly i preffer pins all round.

What tyres and springs do yo guys who race on carpet use? Ive decided to get the novak 7.5 light motor and is this is my first time with a 2 wheel drive and brushless where is a good point to start with gearing?
for carpet, you want yellow tire compund mini pins. but mini spikes will do also.

The most popular spring setup is silvers on the rear and blues on the front, thats what most people run, some have been known to try others :)

What inserts would you use for indoors, with schumacher mini pins?

Schumacher blue inserts......;)
And when you mount up the front tyres on the front rims turn them inside out and cut down the rubber by about 2mm on each side, they'll fit the rims better..

I have been using edit lately too but i had some different ones on today which felt very good, dont what they are but there £1 a pair from castle models
I think they will just be the snee blue ones josh from castle models. I think thats all he sells:)
As for springs i would say silver on the rear and blues up front, seems to be safe the safe option and easy to drive.
Tyres schumacher pins all round. :)
