basically I have been well and truly bitten by the racing bug after bashing for years I have started racing nitros and began with the nitro x cross summer series and im now doing the nitrux winter series but i need something to fill the gap between nitro meets and also something more regular. So im looking at joining oswestry club and racing with them but im unsure of what class and vehicle to go for should i go 2wd as ive heard it is harder but more fun or should i go with 4wd and what cars would people recommend in each class i am only planning on doing one class at the minute but if it goes really well i may do both.

Personally i don't know a great deal about 1/10 racing but i would go for Durango.

I have heard they are one of the best handling cars around, and they look rather marvelous!!.If i was you i would go for a 4wd just because you can control it better, and it can put its power down better.But at the end of the day its up to YOU and what you prefer.

My first 2wd was/is a RB5 Vega. And I can't say that changing has ever crossed my mind. It is expensive but what a car to drive. Balanced and bullet proof. It is well worth the money in my opinion. If you are on more of a budget I know people that are really now coming into there own with the losi 22. There is now lot's of set up help available and is a very quick car.

In my opinion a 2wd WILL make you a better driver all round.

If I were you I'd start with a 2wd. Go for a mid motor car as they handle brilliantly on all surfaces and most people are running them now. Then its decision time on which one and what budget you have,the car off the moment is the dex210 but then you've got the c4.1 coming very soon. Im running the ansmann x2c and im more than happy with that so you've got plenty to go at.

as said above start with a 2wd. it will teach you far more about racing than a 4wd will and is how most people start. a good starting point is the b4. this can then be converted into a c4.1 or an x6 or even a vega. they are available either in kit form or rtr depending on budget and how you wish to start. they are also raced by many people so spares trackside wont be so much of an issue and setup advise will be always be there. from what i know oswestry are a very friendly and open club so go up there first and ask all the questions you will want to ask about all the extra stuff you will need on top of a car.

The problem with this type of question is that it's been beat to death on every forum on the Internet.

While there will be brand-whoring-bastards that will try to convince you that their car brand/type is the best, the fact remains that if there was a thing as "The Best" then everyone would have gotten that. There are several worthy options, and your best bet is to look around (the manufacturer specific threads here, and their factory websites) and check them all out and make up your own mind. :thumbsup:

Ill think you'll find Mr.Ralls mentioned the b4,which in my opinion is a good car,no doubt about that. But....on tracks over here I think it is being left behind by mid motor. I think I read somewhere Paul Brady(correct me if im wrong)said rear motor cars would always be best on dirt. The majority of people over here are now running mid because it better suits our tracks of which very few are dirt!.
