The thing I didn't like about my XXX when I had it was the gearbox. Apart from the gearbox breaking (just because of the way its mounted) the actual internals never seemed to stay nice for long.
The Diff in particular would eat its self regularly. John Price got a few heavy duty thrust bearings in from the states and that made things better but still.
The associated diffs on the other hand have always been perfect and super reliable. I heard these new xxxCR diffs were supposed to be much improved ? is it the diff thats died ?

My xxx is doing fine, the diff hasn't been rebuilt since the first national and is still silky smooth.

how did you manage to fit a B4 gearbox in it ?:p
Nah, not saying they are rubbish, but they certainly arent as robust in my experience as the Associated stuff. I don't think I'm alone in that.

:D
I agree B4 diffs are better and do generally last longer but surely thats all part of maintenance ;)

I much prefer Losi diffs and transmissions to AE stuff. My main problem with AE stuff is how quickly the outdrives wear.
Anyone want to swap a B4 for my BK2 then, it is a minter.... might be tempted to convert the B4 to an X-6.
