Hi can anybody give me any insight of what i should do about my zx-5 shocks as i have tightened the caps down all the way and changed all the o-rings and they will just not stop leaking.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

you may have a bent or scratched shock shaft causing the leaks. but if you have the original ZX5 shocks they didn't have the best seals. You can upgrade to the triple cap version from the RB5, these have a larger spacer between the o-rings and are a bit smoother and don't leak. You just need the new bottom caps, not the whole shocks.
Also get some of Northy's white o-rings, these seal much better than the kit kyosho ones. make sure you always lubricate the o-rings and shaft before assembling the shock so that the thread on the shaft doesn't tear the new o-ring.

Are you using the triple cap shocks or the kit standard ones?

Triple caps are an improvement.

Also you may have over filled the shocks, if you have overfilled them when building they will leak a lot. How much rebound do you have with the shocks when you fill them?

Jim you got me there, although you just need the new caps to stop the leaks, if you use the standard shafts you will lose 2mm of down travel as the updated cartridge is longer then the old style ones.

Pack the seal area with silicone grease ... works wonders!

For upgradeing to the tripple cap shocks you want 1 x w5184 .... includes everything you need including shafts! Price is around £30 give or take a couple .. can't remember for sure!

i am already running the triple caps and the shocks aren't over filled and from what i can see the shafts aren't bent or scratched also the rebound extends to the full length of the shaft. but for the moment i have found some larger guage o-rings of the same diameter and it seems to have fixed the problem..............for now anyway.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Your running way too much rebound there mate ..... I normally have my shocks so they rebound (without a spring obviously) by 6-7mm, this will help in lots of ways trust me.
