The kits have arrived... let the builds begin!

Have to say first impressions... the usual excellent looking quality on all parts.

Should be a joy to build both models

Ive checked the RB5 SP2 WC... the obvious changes are different front tower, narrower bulkhead, and so narrower front hinge pin brace, longer front wishbones, new slipper assembly, narrower rear " blast " wing and obviously the big bores and of course the new colours.

It also has 2 new springs, Big Bore Blue Front, and an unmarked rear spring.. will check them out later against the ones i have..

When i get chance to look through the FS i'll post on here..

Cheers

maaan how the fook did u get your kit today, wont get mine till tuesday :-( (FS2)

didnt realise how big the changes were on the rb5, will be interesting to see how they work on a vega of MCS. i guess you're building it as an MCS and not an RB5 Nick?

might have to consider getting the new parts, dont think i could justify a whole rb5 really, but keep us updated!

Ian,

Im building as the SP2WC mate...

Have always liked the rear motor feel... plus i have a slightly longer chassis on its way to me also ;)

I will defo be trying the new front end on the MCS at somepoint for sure... i think it will improve an already good car / cars (MCS/Vega) the slipper will be a help to im sure..

In both kits you only ger 1 x set of front springs and 1 x set rear springs.

Cheers

Lol!

I will get some as i build... :)

Yes slipper bits will work with Vega lay shaft.. they supply the red (harder) pads with this kit..

:)

On the FS2SP kit they are back on the standard UM519 rear hubs.. so your outboard rear link cant be as long on the hub...

Will the rear hubs be a problem mate? Do I need some others for it?

Yup, hi Paul :) you joined us over the TORCH summer series.

Thought you did well with my SX3.

Just interested with what you're going to go for etc. I've got my TRF511, but getting annoyed with having to get spares from abroad and I've broken it far more than all the other cars I've had.. I really like the look of the FS2 SP, but oh the price!! £12 also for big bore springs PER PAIR!

Yokomo BB (£7 a pair) and Losi BB (£3-ish a pair) springs fit perfectly - as do others probably.

Anyone tried TD Big bores as I'm running a DEX210 for 2WD and would be nice if they fit.

Yes mikey did enjoy the sx3 but after the f3 finals felt it let me down a little for me only went better with losi shocks on,but want a 4 wd for mkgp and silverstone but not here till 16nov but after let down 3 times jad enough but liked the look of tonys car at the losi cup.As you say tamiya parts hard to get,b44.1 dont like the look of it

you can't go wrong with a kyosho!

The DEX210 springs are to long for the rear. They are the correct length for the front but are a slightly smaller diameter making the spring close to the shock body like the B4 shocks. Also the spring does not fit the adjuster collar although it does fit the bottom spring retainer. Its a shame as there are 16 different rates for the front springs
