Having just bought a new Orion R10 pro for my new B44.1 I am now in need of a new motor. Looking at a 6.5T. What would you reccomend. Willing to spend whatever i need to.

Currently looking at the:
Lrp X12 modified.
Orion vst seris
Speed passion v3.0.

Any advice and recomendations greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advanmce.

Speedpassion seem to melt when they get hot so i wouldnt have one them,

LRP are rapid get hot and dont mind (had mine at 113deg C every race of a 2 day national) and not a probs but the magnet goes soft very quickly and loose performance.

Have you looked at GM motors?
Chris Grainger 5/6 time national champ runs them and his car is always the fastest in a stright line and they dont seem to get mega hot and melt.

Thats where i would start :)

Ive seen them ment and obviously others have had the same problem.

What motor do you run kayce? You seem to tell everyone else they are wrong with everything they say but what experence you have of these motors?

Yeah, and the responents said he was overgeared and had the timing set too high. That's NOT the motor's fault.

I'll admit I have a couple of SP's, but I have other brands as well.
Do you have any Speed Passion motors? Have you had any burn down? NO, of course you don't!

Meanwhile you're repeating rumors, and not making comments based on your own personal experiences. You're not helping anybody, and frankly it's manufacturer-bashing. You're saying things happen, and yet you don't know the whole story. You talk about me, yet you're the one that keeps posting that these motors are bad.

Well obviously ur crystal ball Is incorrect as yes I have owned one and did it blow up? Yes it did in 2 runs So thst makes the rest your post void.

And I'm not bashing companies, to help someone you need to advise them of problems with equipment to save them trouble but that's impossible without putting something down isnt it, it's obviously really to ppl to try help and warn ppl of possible problems.

but anyways if u buying a motor I would love to help n warn you of what bad cud happen but I'm not allowed

AND, as I said in that other thread, "name me one other brand of motor in which there is record of anyone ever not having had one burn up!" At that rate, and to be fair, you might as well list every single BL motor manufacturer. "So thst makes the rest your post void."

I've been running the Vampire motors since they came out, been ultra reliable, as fast as anything else and no issues with heat. Also VERY reasonably prices, check out the banner that often appears at the page top advertising them!

To be honest mate, I'm starting to think that when I see your posts....

How about putting what you're saying across without the attitude? Take your obvious beef against Gunter and his Speed Passion statements, perhaps that's true for what he has seen and other in his club have seen; perhaps those motors aren't as suited to the tracks we race on in the UK (you know - high grip grass, astroturf, carpet etc etc etc) but they maybe perfect for the lower grip US style dirt tracks you may race on more than us.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Now preparing to have the wrath of Kayce against me.......... (in my head I can see the mental image of Top Gear when they pulled into the petrol station on their American 'fly drive' adventure)

As for motors, I've just started using the HPI Pro Flux motors. Seem very good for the money and are a lot faster/torquier per wind than I've been used to with my previous Losi motors.

I'll let you know after spending yet another winter season running indoor on lower grip ozite.

Glad you found a motor, I personally not seen much of the new Orion motors in the touring world so feedback on one would be much appreciated
