Hello all,
I'm considering an X2C for next season. What, if any, are essential upgrades?
Thanks
Chris

the car is very good right out the box, the main thing to do is the idlers in the gearbox. and that should be that

the kit screws are a little soft, i replaced the ones that get a bit of abuse like the shock mounting ones and the gearbox ones, but as above replace the idler gears, also i wouldnt use the kit shock oil, i found with kit springs 20 to 25wt in the rear and 25 to 30 in the front track depending.
It's a very nice bit of kit and easy to drive:thumbsup:

I agree with this fully, I went for the ceramic balls as well as the idle gear.

As already said:
RW Idler gears
Kevlar diff gear
Buds Balls ceramics
Associated spur and slipper pads
Screw kit
Bit of lead weight
With these few extras its bullet proof and a really nice car to drive

to be honest, it's just the idler gears that is an essential upgrade, everything else will be fine or you can upgrade bits and bobs as you go, no need to lash out loads on extras, Buy it, Build it, Race it,

IMO... Ceramic diff balls and a B4 or xxx cr spur gear and slipper pads... The kit idler gears are ok to start with, the reason they strip is down to the kit slipper pads heating up and sticking putting all the strain on the gears... My standard idlers lasted me a good 3 or 4 months... They only we t because the slipper pads locked up.
Kit screws are ok, just be careful with them, stainless ones are a good option though...
