The Vampire "Type AB+" motors are available through any of our X-Factory UK dealers shown on our site and very reasonably priced too. Just click the X-Factory UK banner at the top of any oOple page to go straight there.....

Speed Passion might be another option you could consider.

SP motors if they go a tiny bit over there working temp (75-80) the internals melt. Just a friendly warning from the touring car world

Never heard of that, but if you say so. I guess you can burn anything down if you push the temps hard enough.

Incorrect.
Speed Passion motors have the sensor lead coming out of the end of the can so wouldnt help your problem:

Thats what happens when your going fast. ;) But all i was meaning is ive seen them melt and there are people on this forum which have had the same problems so was just a friendly warning.
Not seen a LRP go rong other than desoldering which is easily solved.
But why dose know one in the buggying world use GM motors? they are sooo popular in touring

I've seen a lot of motors melt/burn down, every brand out there, but I think it more a matter of user error than product problem. But that's my humble opinion.
Graupner ???? Who knows.
I haven't seen evidence of widespread use or popularity in TC.

:wtf: Why would THAT effect "sensor port is had against the chassis" ???
Being as the sensor port is at the top, or near the top, of the motor.....

Because room is tight you dont want anything going into the end of the motor am i right?
So a motor like this would be what you are looking for?

User Error? hmmm
Not sure what you were trying to say there but different motors seem to have a very different reaction to heat, some like it and run hot, others dont. SP dont and internals melt easier than other.
In the UK they are the most used motor for lower winds from doing the nationals

Because you say?
Doesn't make it fact, just unsubstantiated rumor as far as I'm concerned.

+1
It happened to me twice on an SP motor (both user error I might add)
SP seem like really good motors, but they dont like the heat, as opposed to something like a Novak or LRP which Ive heard can take a few more degrees.

Sorry mate, you're wrong again.
The sensor port is at the bottom of the motor.
Putting this as simply as I can - it sticks out; therefore it fouls against the chassis (or in my case in the Cat, it could foul against the shell if not centered correctly.)
Therefore SP arent going to help in this case.
Sorry.

If you don't own any, or experienced it yourself, you're just restating rumor. And that doesn't help anyone.
In another thread in which you said this you posted a link to a thread where the other posters agreed the OP overgeared and advanced the timing too much. Not the motor's fault.

:wtf: Not in the picture you're showing.
You obviously took that photo off the internet, because if you owned it you would know that the power tabs are on the endbell - and thus the motor could be rotated so the sensor port could be in the most convenient location for the user. Otherwise, if you owned any, you would know that on other SP motors the sensor port is located at the top of then endbell right below the motor/power tabs.
Now, WHO's wrong?

Still you as the sensor wire still goes into the end bell horizontally not vertically

The sensor wire is flexible, can be bent at a 90* angle, and the sensor port and wire sticks out a grand total of 5mm max.

Back to the question in hand I can't think of any other motors out there other than the gm and novak. Both good motors I've ran GM and they are really good but possibly due to the dirt of offroad the vents would fill with rubbish and create problems, so mayb the Novak is a stronger more reliable motor to go with just keep a eye on temp anything over 85 is to hot and 90+ is about to melt the internals.
And I'm not slagging off Novak before i get moaned at that is what Novak USA direct told me And the uk novak rep said
