What bendy plastic?

Does anyone know what the best material is for flexible bendy bits?

Thanks Daz. Any Idea what thickness is best? 6mm? 8mm? maybe 3mm doubled up?

I would try 3mm (single thickness, not doubled up as you have suggested). Should be flexible enough to form your corners, but not too rigid that it doesn't want to bend. It won't crack or break on you, and should bounce any cars which hit it back to the track.

The stuff that arrived seemed pretty floppy so in the end I did double up the main bends and half doubled up the end pieces.
They were tested out on Sunday and they worked very well. :)

What are the small white 'dots' on the wood pieces?

the very small white dots are the cross pins that hold the button in.
the other white dots are exactly as you said, for a snug fit in the pipework.

It went really well.
All the bendy stuff is exactly the same shape it was before the battering. No more folks getting wheels snagged off on miss aligned pipes. And best of all for me, no embarrasing screw ups.

Great stuff, I dropped out during two heats from clipping the barriers on my first time out there. I'm really looking forward to the next meeting but I won't be home in time for the one on the 8th Jan. Next one for me is the 4 hr Endurance (22nd Jan) and then the club meet after that on the 5th Feb.

Can you confirm where you bought the bits so we could copy yours
Also roughly how much did it cost and did you have to cut the strips up yourself

Ordered the stuff through where I work (we use a lot of plastics and wood and know a few suppliers.) and before I/the club had a chance to pay for it, my boss kindly decided to make the stuff a donation. So I couldnt say how much it cost or where exactly the materials came from.
I cut the strips with a sheet saw and made all of the parts exept for the springs.
