Hi All,

We currently run on a Wednesday night, however since Silverstone buggy club have started on a Tuesday night numbers have dropped from a peak of 45 to around the 20-25 people.

Is this because:

A: The cost of racing twice a week.
B: Location (you live nearer to either of the tracks)
C: Both meetings are on consecutive nights.
D: Track Layouts/Features
E: Other meetings on different nights
F: Any other reason?

I’ve also included a poll, are we running on your favoured night, and if you could choose a night to race what would it be?

Your feedback would be appreciated.

I live in Deanshanger and can race any night.

I suppose if numbers have dropped due to Tuesday's racing then maybe a Thursday or Friday would suit better, will give a couple of days between club nights and race meets

I'm fine with most nights to be honest matt, but obviously we have to do what will maximise attendance for the club!

Matt,

For me personally, in the current climate, it's economics so A and B are the major factors.

It's really appreciated that you set up the weekday meetings when you did - after the demise of MA - as there was nothing available at the time.

I will try to get down as often as I can. Myself and Max will definately be attending the Winter series's.

The winter series only came about as a result of racing at the school during the week, if the midweek racing goes then there will of course be no winter series :(

I'm afraid my main loyalty is to the Kettering club where we race touring cars every Friday night... my Off Road racing is something I do as a bit of fun when time allows so my choice between the two venues (Silverstone or Telstar) would be wholely dependant on when it suits me best in terms of time avaliability (or when SWMBO lets me race:D). Silverstone is a bit closer for me but its not that much further time-wise to Telstar.

To be honest I think that your drop in numbers is more of an even-ing out after the initial rush of racers coming to try out the venue after the successfull advertising & 'buzz' that you created on here. Silvertone's growth in numbers has apparently been more gradual which might be because the exposure on here seems less for the week night racing??

What I have noticed is that there are regulars that seem to attend on both evenings (Paul, Alec, James etc) - the rest seem to be attendees specific to each club. I wouldn't worry too much at the moment about your numbers, so long as you are covering your costs.

Between the two clubs there's little to choose, both are friendly & offer slightly different experience in terms of the actual track itself (Telstar slower but more technical)
