Soon my R/c gear will have to go from being stored in a nice warm and cosy house to a horrible cold garage.

Just wanted ideas of what sort of things people use as lock ups.

I was thinking about using a van vault type lock up !!

Security being a major issue.

Is the garage at the side/near your house or will it be a lock-up jobbie?

if you are that concerned, why not build a partition at the back of the garage and put a nice big lock on the door that you will inevitably create?

this, along with a decent pair of padlocks on the garage door will make it secure enough, i would have thought?

Put it all in a metal box and rig your power supply to it to make it live, if you use IB4200 rig it up so they short out if anyone tries to break in

Aslong as you have a garge built out of bricks and a good quality garage door on it you should be fine the only way you could get though it wouldbe to drive into it or to cut it off which would cause alot of noise and wake you

I though my idea was crazy josh you need help.

Ash yes its a brick built garage but standard garage doors are crap.
And its slightly away from the house.

We all know how many ££££'s worth of gear we have.

I want it locked away securely. I have read in the past a thread on Oople ref Pitting at home.
A few people mention secure storage and I was just after ideas.

I'd imagine thieves would only nick things that they can identify and think may have a value ie car/transmitter... so perhaps keep these secure in the house and leave the bulky items ie tyres etc in the garage?

Same as me wraggy, my bird has left the garage door open all night before, i really dont think it would get lifted as its not something they can move on as easy as a tv, the thing is if they really want it they will take it no matter what measures you take;)

Not meant to offend Northy, you could of allways just sent me a pm.
I think some of the fancy sig piccies look really good.
It was my attempt at one ! not really got the time, experience or programs to try to and get the same effects of the others.

Dave, no gonna be moving soon. Guess my children should really use the bedrooms rather than my rc gear

No probs, didn't mean to sound harsh.

leave it at a good friend's house, or your parent's house

it all depends on how you are willing to invest, if you are serious, you are looking at about £4-500 for a decent safety chest that can be bolted to the floor...... Remember, if you got an insecure garage and a flimsy locked cabinet, if it DOES get broken into, that flimsy cabinet will be like a magnet to the tea-leaf.....
