Ballistic tyre identification ??

As title says........how can you tell if they are green or pinks. Apart from feeling, is there any other way to know ??
If no markings on them like Schumacher have "WHY NOT":D

I always write the compound on the inside of the wheel and number them. For example G1, G2

Hi Ray, As already confirmed they all are marked with a colour paint dot on each of them when they leave the factory....

I think Ray is asking how to identify them once the dot has worn off on used tires.

In my pit box I have several colours of nail varnish (oh I can hear the jokes forming already ...) which I use to mark the inside vertical face of the wheel with when I mount tires. The reason I use nail varnish and not pen is;

1) stays on no matter what you clean the wheels with
2) gets automatically removed when you put the wheels in acetone to remove the tire glue
3) can still be seen easily at a glance even on dirty rims.

I just buy them every couple of years from the supermarket for about £1 a pot and they last ages as all you need is a dot! I keep green, yellow, pink & silver so total outlay is about the same as one decent paint pen.

Don't put it on the inside cylindrical face of the wheel as I find it can get rubbed off there.

Thankyou you all for your responce's and suggestion's.
I have bought some new one's (green), but don't remember seeing a dot. :confused: And bought some used one's (pink). I have acertoned all since and put them back onto my new wheel's, now not sure which is pink or green. :blush:

Pinks are very soft! you should be able to tell a pritty big difference between the rubber tbh.. Pinks are the softer of the 2

if you have acetoned them of it will have slightly damage the tyres and they wont work the same as new , so doesnt matter what they were,
