What kind of tyres and inserts are you guys running on your 2WD's on carpet?
I'm thinking Schumacher Mini Pins (yellow)?
Maybe some Cut Staggers on the front?
I'm running Mini Spikes (with the spikes cut off) on my TRF502x, and that's very good (as the setup on the car is very good now), but that did NOT work on the TRF201.. Very little rear traction..

With my actual set up i use Mini pin Yellow Rear and Stagger Yellow (Cut or Rib) front. At front i use also Mini Pin with the spikes cut off but i have to be "gentle" on steering since i have tons on traction......
No problem at all with rear traction, i have a lot of it, at front with Staggers i have a balanced car and use cut ones (premounted on Schumacher wheels and with insert) if i want a little bit more understeer and Rib (no insert) if i want a little more traction.
I use Medium inserts Schumacher or Answer Rc.
Anyway i'm still trying to find the perfect combination (i'm racing on carpet since one month ago... i always raced on dirt before....) any advice from carpet experts would be fine even on set up.
Bye.

Thanks WWD.
I'm gonna try with Mini Pins on the rear (with Pro-Line Closed Cell inserts), and Mini Spikes with all but the innermost row of pins cut off (also with Pro-Line Closed Cell inserts), at the track tonight. I also have a set of Cut Staggers, with medium Schumacher inserts, to try on the front end.
Thanks for your help.

On Sunday at the Scottish West Coast open i was running both 2wd and 4wd, TRF201 and TRF502X. I started practice with a set of mini pins on both cars and found them to be a little too grippy on the carpet that was getting used so i went to a set of scrubbed mini spikes on both cars and they were excellent. The previous weekend at the MK GP i ran minipins all day on both cars as that felt better. Both cars were also running Schumacher Tubby Inserts. I feel it really depends on the carpet on the day. You could alo play about with shock oil and shock positions to help settle the car.
Hope this helps

Scotty....
What you think is a good start for shock oil (i use Losi), springs and shocks positions?
Thanks!

Hi m8 I'm running Team Associated shock oil, 35wt in front shocks, 30wt in rear shocks. Tamiya green springs on the front and Tamiya yellow on the rear. Sometimes I'll run yellow all round or go to blue on the front. I'm in one hole at the top front and rear and in the middle hole on bottom front and rear.
