Anyone bought anything from this shop??
Model shops close down due to lack of business and this shop take your money and dont deliver!!!
Called them and they say it's been sent and hang up...
I never want to see a shop/company fold but if wheelspin do it will be a blessing!!!

NEVER USE THIS JOKE OF A SHOP

Got to say, I’ve ordered lots from them over the years and never had a problem.

Could the issue lie with the delivery company? I’ve had Royal Mail next day special delivery (or whatever it is) take up to 5 days this time of year. :bored:

Poor quality of service either from a retailer or the delivery company responsible for making sure customers get their products is obviously unacceptable. Having said that in my experience, Wheelspin Models provide thousands of people with a good quality service in general, I feel that suggesting that ANY modelshops closure would be a 'blessing' is a tad insensitive to the customers who use this resource and also the owners of the business. Every model shop closure makes the supply chain for our hobby close tighter and tighter and also forces consumers to look overseas for their RC products therefore compounding the problems for small independent companies such as Wheelspin.

As previously stated by another member, hobby shops and delivery companies are stretched to breaking point at this time of year and we should all take a little time to either ask to speak with a store manager about our problems, or insist that your items are sent special delivery and pay a little more for the piece of mind. Modern times make us all 'super consumers', lets not forget how lucky we are to have such amazing resources :)

100% with you Style iv know wheelspin since late 90s early 2000 of the 1/10 gas truck days and myself have had a few purchases in the past i would have to agree that this time of year is very very bizzzzzzy for the post men and women so this may have the impact why your purchase is late but keep us all posted so if your purchase does turn up we all know its GOOD !!!!! ;)

I ordered from them Tuesday last week, items only arrived today. Going to put the delay down to the Royal Mail on this occasion.

Never had a problem with their mail order in the past though.

Too be fair, their mail order service is good, but I know of a few racers that don't think too much of their face to face service (but I personally haven't had a problem)

I ordered some stuff a few months ago and it took them about a week to dispatch it and then it went missing in the post. I appreciate this happens, but I had to wait a further two weeks to 'make sure' it wasn't just slow. Eventually I received my stuff after a month.

I've ordered 4 times from them in the past and vowed never to use them again. on all 4 occasions i waited a week then rang them to be told a we actually ddon't have that in stock.they were quick enough to take my money but weren't going to bother to tell me they didn't have my stuff in stock. this was 4 separate occasions never had a problem with modelsport far better bet.

Have used a few times, no problems. Have had one miss packed order, was rectified quickly with no charge. Happy with their service.

Used a few times and always got the parts, but sometimes took more than an acceptable time to arrive, and that seems to be due to the slightly misleading stock level status. (a little my fault for not reading the detailed description of each status) but bascially parts were never in stock, no messages to explain that just a long silent wait for the parts to arrive and then be shipped.

I'd be happy with a more detailed explanation of what was happening to the order, in or out of stock i don't mind, just be nice to know.

Other than that, they got the parts i needed.

thanks for all responce's guy's.. a few of you have taken this post personally and it was not ment that way!!

I ordered,paid and then called with my reference number to find out eta for delivery and (the manager) was abrupt and said been sent and hung up! I called again and quoted my ref no and asked for the store manager who again said BEEN SENT then hung up....
In my opinion that isn't the best service and i wont recommend ppl to use them..

The only thing i find wrong with Wheelspin Models is that they take your money and not always has the stuff in stock you ordered;

So therefore they have taken your money and then have to order it from suppliers and then get it shipped to you;This is not to bad as may take 3 - 5 days but if the suppliers have not got it in stock then the order can take up to 3 - 5 weeks. I do not feel it right that company take your money before they send the stuff out;

This is why i will deal with model shops that only take the money from you when the stock is in with the shop and they post it out to you then the money is taken from your account;

Ok so you ask "Has it been sent?", He says "Yes" - End of conversation really isn't it?

What else do you want him to do?

Rang them this Monday to order a pre-painted Blitz shell (I was out shoppin with the missus and got a bit bored). Guy that answered the phone very helpful pointing out that the part wasn't in stock with the shop but was "at the warehouse". I was happy to pay over the phone but he said that as their warehouse order email had already gone earlier that day it would save me money to order it when I got home off the website as it'd still leave the same day (Wednesday) but would save me a few quid. Bodyshells go via expedited post anyway and I got an email notifying me what time the item would arrive and it was bang on, arriving safely yesterday.

So I'm very happy with the advice and service I received and although I appreciate one order is not really enough to build up a rapport with a business they may well get repeat custom from me in future.

Like others have said, everyone can have a bad day but its a big over-reaction (and pretty immature in this current climate) to wish that a business closes down due to most likely something out of their control ie the Royal Fail or Parcelfarce.

i think the point being made was not in relation what was said, but the manner it was said in.
