Hello guys, so recently i rebuilt my RC10 B4s, and as i was getting acquainted with the differential and slipper i realized (while doing the 3 inch pop up test for setting the slipper correctly) that my Novak 5800 brushless motor cannot even do that... It seems to stall the motor and the ESC cuts off with a overheat warning if i hold it too long, but it does not even have enough of a punch to lift the front end at all.
the motor runs fast, and i have kept the final drive ratio conservative enough (fdr: 10 with a 21 tooth pinion, even tried with a 19 tooth, (fdr: 11 ish)) so it should definately have the torque. It doesn't have an issue running, it gets up to speed just fine, so i thought maybe my batteries were going bad? (i have not tried with my new lipo yet because i don't have the plugs for it) but i have another B4 with an older reedy sonic brushed motor, at a 9.5 ish fdr it is able to kick the car up just fine, and never stalls the motor (slipper slips if i push it but that's what's supposed to happen) so that rules out the battery issues...
I feel like i have covered all my bases, what am i missing? my understanding was that brushless have more torque. but mine doesn't even have enough :-/
battery: check
differential, and slipper clutch: check
checked ESC for any limiting setting: check
is my motor going bad?
sorry for wordy post, i just wanted to make sure all details were available, feel free to ask any questions, and i can post pictures of my equipment if you wish. thanks guys!!
regards,
Duster
