what is the difference between 12awg and 14awg? and what would be best for 10.5 tc?

AWG = american wire guage

lower the number the higher the diameter.

either one is suitable for the application, the quality and type of solder and connectors you use is far more important

Ive used both. Didnt notice any difference with power or with 14 getting any warmer. I personly prefer the 14 as its smaller and more flexable. I have an SX3 and its realy tight for space. So I will recomend the 14. Goodluck.

Ive used both same as ray and noticed no difference, you could always get 13awg :woot:

just out of interest but what is the UK equivalent to 12 or 14 awg ???

2.5mm is around 13AWG, 4mm would be around 11AWG.

I had an esc wired with 14awg and found that the power delivery was a little lacking and the wires got warm. Changed to 12awg wire and the acceleration/punch was much better and the wires alot cooler. This was just a test in 2wd. I have seen in the past drivers using thinner wire in 2wd as this is yet another aid in taming down the acceleration on the motors.

I've used both, in the same car same Speedo same motor and never noticed any differance.

some claimed 12awg doesn't actually have a lot more wire in it just more insulation, bit looks massive compared to 14awg.
Cut it square and look at the end.

My positive battery wire is 12awg.
My negative battery wire is 14awg.
I think most of my motor wires are 14awg, but one is definitely 12awg.

No one wire or wires get any hotter than any others and there was definitely no difference in power delivery after changing some of the wires.
