I'm on with building my C4.1

As well as missing spacers for the, lipo, missing bearings and screws, I've also had to dremmel the gearbox as per Chris Longs problem with the layshaft fouling the gearbox inside.

Now I'm struggling with the diff.

I'm converting my X6 to the C4.1 and it looks like the diff / bearings drop in as they are, why do I need different out drives & bearings ?

I've bought some SC10 out drives (no. 9852) but the bearing kit I got was B4, not B4.1....
So I'm missing the b4.1 bearings, can't I just drop my diff in as is, it looks to fit fine - confused, help :)

The B4 bearings are imperial and the B4.1/SC10 are metric, there may not look like much difference but there is and would be noticeable once you run it - are you sure you didn't get the metric ones?

Andy , you need the b4.1 outdrives and bearings as the c4.1 gearbox casing is designed to fit the b4.1 metric bearings. Think it should mention something about that in your manual?
If you have a problem with missing parts in your kit, give cml a call/ email I'm sure they will be more than happy to sort your issue.

I've emailed CML. I'm on the home straight now, I just need the right diff bearings, I bought some with the kit (as well as the outdrives) as I knew I didn't get these in the C4.1, but I ended up with B4 ones, not B4.1 ones - shop mixed them up....

Manual... cheers for the top tip Ben, never thought to look at that :)

Almost finished now, what length screws are people using for the 4 screws that hold the gearbox down, I don't want to use ones that are too short as these 4 hold all the back end of the car on ?
